Y/n pov
"Y/n, can't you stay a bit more. For me?!"
He said in a very tempting voice. I knew I had to get out of there. Otherwise, I would have ended up doing something stupid.
I turned around so I could look him in the eyes. I found myself facing him.
"Kookie, I don't think this is a good idea." I lowered my gaze, not being able to stare at him for long without giving in to his requests.
"Your body thinks otherwise. I can feel it." He was scanning my face for some kind of reaction while waiting for me to answer.
"Kookie, what do you want me to say, huh?! You're a married man, remember?!" I wasn't able to read any emotion on it. His expression was blank.
"Ah, so that's your excuse." He huffed at my meak excuse.
"That's not an excuse, that's a fact!" I blurted out in a sudden fit of jealousy.
"So, five years, and you're leaving like this?! I thought we could talk, at least." He took a step back and smirked right in front of my face.
"I don't think what we were doing just two minutes ago would have led to great conversations." I replied in a sarcastic tone before adding.
"Yes, my body has a will of its own when it comes to you if this is what you wanted to hear. But, I'm not the same person I was five years ago, and I have other priorities right now." He didn't interrupt me. He just listened attentively.
"Now, if you'll excuse me, I have somewhere else I need to be. I promised someone we'd spend the day together." His mood totally changed. He wasn't pleased by what I had just lashed out. He twitched his lips in a manifestation of displeasure. I knew that expression all too well.
"Someone I know of?" He asked, caging me between him and the door, grabbing my wrist tightly. His jealousy started showing.
"No, no one you know of." I looked down, not wanting to get my face scrutinized. If there were somebody who knew me better than anyone else, that would definitely be Jungkook. He let go of my hand, opened the door, and said.
"See you tomorrow, then."
I saw disappointment and hurt in his eyes, but I couldn't let myself be swayed by it. My mind was all over the place until I realized I was inside the elevator. I sent a message to Jane telling her that I was leaving and I would tell her everything when she got home.
I don't know what went on with me. Was I trying to make him jealous by making him believe I was with someone else right now?! Probably it's for the best, I thought. This way, he would have kept his distance, and I, my sanity.JK pov
After Y/n practically ran out of my office, I threw myself on the chair. I needed to process what just happened. Until this morning, when she appeared in front of me, I thought I would never get to see her again. It was as if someone had opened the door to the past. It felt as if my heart was jumping up and down inside the hollow shell that was my body, and I truly thought it would jump out of my chest, at one point. She was just as beautiful as I remembered, if not more. Her features were more refined, and she had lost the girlish look she had back then. My first instinct was to run to her, hug her so tightly I would never let go of her, again. It was as if, these past five years, I had been living in a desert, and now I finally found my oasis. I didn't know what to do or what to say. I felt paralyzed. After I calmed down a bit, dark thoughts started clouding my mind. Who was she meeting with?! Was it a man?! Maybe the reason she refused to let the company pick her up from the airport is because someone else was with her. Someone she didn't want me to meet. It was definitely a man, by the way she was beating around the bush when I asked her. Oh God, I would go crazy at this rate. My jealousy was killing me, and yet, I had no right to be jealous. She didn't belong to me anymore, or did she?! I needed a drink, a strong one. I picked up the phone and called Taehyung.
"Tae, when you're done, can you come to my office. Thanks, man!"V pov
After talking for a while with Jungkook, I headed home. This day had been intense with an unexpected twist. I really needed to lay down. As I parked my car, I noticed that both Namjoon and Jin were home.
"Hey, I'm back!" I entered the living room and threw myself on the couch.
"Hey, Tae, how did it go? You look devastated. Is JayKay overworking you again?!" Namjoon commented in a sarcastic tone before adding. "How did the meeting go? Did you finally get to meet this mysterious CEO?" He asked while sipping water from the small bottle in his hands.
"I did, and believe me when I say this, I had the biggest surprise of my life." Just like that, I totally got Namjoon's full attention.
"I guess congratulations are in order." I said while looking at him. He eyed me suspiciously urging me to speak.
"Your bestie is back in town, and... she also happens to be the CEO of the NY based company." I thought he would choke on his water because he started to say something, but before him or I could utter a word, I heard Jin from behind me say.
"Dayyymmm... It was about time something interesting happened around here."p.s: smut is gonna come soon, but it's a slow burn, so I hope you bear with me :)
