I received Jungkook's text, but I was already heading out of the building, not wanting to stay anywhere near that woman. The jealousy was getting the best of me, but I couldn't help myself. I texted back, letting him know that I was heading to my company's headquarters, and later on, I would meet up with Namjoon for lunch. I knew he wasn't thrilled about me spending time with Namjoon, but he had to make peace with it. I let him know that Jung Hee and I, in the afternoon, would be at the park near my father's house. After lunch, I also had to run home and break the news to Jung Hee. I didn't even know where to start or if I should just wait for Jungkook and break the news together.
...In the early afternoon, Jung Hee and I were hanging out in the park. I was really nervous, and just then, seeing Jungkook coming towards us, I breathed a sigh of relief. It felt like, for the first time, I wouldn't have to bear the load all alone, and that feeling warmed my heart. He was walking in a slow pace, and you could see he was tense from the way his hand was going through his hair. He kept staring at Jung Hee all the time and couldn't take his eyes off of him. Jung Hee saw him approaching us, and when he realized Jungkook was staring at him, he got all shy and tried to hide behind my back.
"Hi, my love." He greeted me, giving me a butterfly kiss on the cheek. Jung Hee, hearing the way he greeted me, showed up from behind and furrowed his eyebrows at Jungkook, clearly mad at him. He even pouted his lips, wanting to make a better statement.
"Hi, Kookie." I greeted him back, giving him a small kiss on the lips. He was taken aback, and his eyes went immediately to Jung Hee. On the other hand, Jung Hee, feeling left out, was pulling my hand while staring at Jungkook.
"Baby, this is... Kookie. A person mommy cares very much about." Jungkook raised his eyes to look at me. I shrugged, not knowing how to introduce him.
Before I could say anything else, Jung Hee said casually.
"Like Joonie hyung?!" Jungkook froze in place. I didn't expect Jung Hee to spurt it out like that. I was ready to defend myself, but he held his hand out, making me stop.
"We will discuss that later. Now it's not the time." He said calmly, but I guess it was just due to Jung Hee presence. I kneeled at Jung Hee's eye level to explain to him.
"No, baby, not exactly like that. Do you remember when you asked me why other kids had their appa and you didn't?!" He was nodding to me, and Jungkook was clearly very affected by it because I saw him furrowing his eyes.
"I told you he was far away and couldn't be with us. Jungkook is your appa, baby. That's why he is here. To meet you." We were both checking Jung Hee out for his reaction, but he was so taken aback from what I said. He was just standing there, not saying anything, probably processing the new information.
Jungkook also kneeled down at his eye level and took his small hand in his.
"Hi, Jung Hee. I'm your appa. I'm so happy to finally meet you, my love." Jungkook's eyes got all watery. He was just standing there looking at Jung Hee in silence, just getting acquainted at his son's features. He patted his son's head tenderly. Before him or I could say anything, Jung Hee placed his small hands over Jungkook's cheek, trying to wipe away the tears streaming down his eyes.
"Why are you cwying, appa? You sad?!" He tilted his head on one side, trying to figure out why Jungkook was crying. Hearing Jung Hee call him "appa" for the first time, Jungkook started to sob.
"No, my love, I'm not sad. I'm actually very happy. These are happy tears." He turned his head in order to kiss Jung Hee's hand that was still trying to wipe off his tears.
"You happy to see me?" His eyes shined bright with happiness.
"But I don't know you." He answered innocently.
"But I know you. And, I know your mommy from a long time ago. I love her so much. And I love you, too." Jung Hee, not knowing what to do with this information, furrowed his eyes. His mood changed completely, and I couldn't understand what was going on in his little head. All of a sudden, he started yelling at Jungkook.
"No! Mommy is mine!" He stepped away from Jungkook and grabbed my leg, holding it tight and crying. I was trying to calm him down, and Jungkook didn't know what to do, either. Now I had two crying Jeons to deal with.
"Baby, listen to me, please." I was trying to reason with him, but he was having none of it, stomping his foot on the ground. Having never had a male figure in his life to look up to, he felt as if his position was being threatened by Jungkook. Jungkook kneeled in front of him again, trying to reason with his son.
"Jung Hee, can you please listen to me." He kept eyeing Jungkook wryly but didn't interrupt him either.
"Mommy is all yours, baby. I'm not gonna take her away from you, ok?!" He nodded and was listening carefully.
"I just want to have you and Mommy close to me so I can be with you every day. Can you please share mommy with me, huh?!" He tilted his head, taking in this new information, and his expression got melting me from the inside.
"What do you say, huh, man to man?!" Jung Hee was nodding in approval, but he still had tears flowing from his eyes.
"Pwomise you will not take her away. Pinky pwomise!" He extended his little finger to Jungkook. Jungkook was smiling from ear to ear.
"Pinky promise, my love." And when Jung Hee had calmed down, Jungkook finally got to pull him in a tight hug. I hadn't realized I had been crying myself this whole time. We decided to spend the afternoon at the park. Jung Hee wouldn't let Jungkook's hand go, even for a second. Now, I was getting jealous of him, but I had never been happiest in my whole life.Author pov
The three of them were walking hand in hand, enjoying the afternoon in the park, like a proper family. In the meantime, someone from afar was taking pictures of them.
"Yes, Sir. He's with Y/n and his son." The man tailing them was heard speaking to someone on the phone.
"Well done! Follow them closely. And, I want to know everything. No detail should be deemed unnecessary." A voice on the other side of the phone was imparting orders.
"I'm expecting news from you very soon. Don't disappoint me!" After hanging up the phone, he thought how naive was of Jungkook to think he could get out of wedlock and the company, that easily. Not when he himself had set eyes on Y/n, a long time ago.p.s: ahhhh plot twist
