"Ah, here...Jeon...Jeon Jungkook."
She said. At first, I thought I was imagining things and asked Jane to repeat it again. Jane repeated it in such an uncaring manner as if it was the most natural thing in the world because to her, it was. It was just a name on a paper. But not to me.
In that moment, it was as if Pandora's box just cracked open. Every emotion came pouring in, the good and the bad. Only then did I realize I started having a panic attack. I couldn't feel my legs, and I couldn't move an inch as I placed my hand on the wall for support. My head started spinning. Somehow, I managed to look up at a worried Jane that was staring back at me as if I was otherworldly.
"Y/n, talk to me. What happened to you all of a sudden?! You're scaring me." I raised my gaze up, but all I could hear coming from her lips were broken sounds, here and there.
"I don't feel well. Can we postpone the meeting, please." I pleaded her.
It was all I was able to mumble, placing  my other hand on my chest. I felt as if my heart was trying to rip itself free of the ribcage.
"Do you want me to call a doctor?" I shook my head and anchored myself to her shoulders.
"Just take five and wash your face. It will make you feel better. It must be the pressure. I mean, you have handled worse than this." She tried to reassure me as she held me close.
"No, Jane, you don't understand. I can't talk to him, I can't. Not right now." I grabbed her shoulders with both arms, shaking her.
"Who's him?! Y/n, what's going on?!" She widened her eyes, almost terrified at my nonsense words.
"Jane, you need to handle this in my stead. You can be in that conference room without me. I trust you." I just wanted to run out of that place and never look back.
"What?! Y/n, have you gone crazy?!" She widened her eyes at me.
"Please, I'm begging you. I'll explain everything later, promise." I practically ran away, holding myself on the wall. Jane looked at me and walked away from there. She stared as if she was looking at me for the first time ever and headed towards the conference room with a very preoccupied expression on her face, not understanding what just happened.

The both of them were laughing just a moment ago, and now Jane had to face people from the other side of the world, all alone. It's not the first time she had handled important meetings, but she has never had to deal with other companies on such a grand scale. Her palms began to sweat, and she started to get nervous. With that thought in her mind, she entered the conference room.
"Come on, Jane, you got this."
She was trying to calm herself down and at the same time wondering how Y/n was doing, what happened to her so suddenly, and hoping she'd get better soon.

Somehow, I managed to run back to my office and threw myself on the chair. My head fell in my hands, feeling ten times heavier. Oh my God, what were the chances; I thought to myself. The company name had rang familiar at one point, but I had brushed the idea out of the way, thinking that korean last names were pretty much it, just a bunch of them. I absolutely needed to pull myself together first. I couldn't make myself go to the conference room in this condition. The guilt for abandoning Jane was eating me up. I had to prepare myself before meeting him. And, to think that I foolishly thought I could avoid him forever.

While waiting for the meeting's setup time, I tried catching up with Taehyung.
"How's that brother of yours doing? Is he still mad at me for stealing you away from him?! I haven't talked to him in a while." I asked, amused.
"You didn't steal me. I volunteered as a tribute, remember." Taehyung answered, making me smile. I could always count on Taehyung to lift up my spirits.
"He's trying to keep up with your workaholic ass. As if he wasn't competitive enough before, now he has become completely unbearable." Taehyung rolled his eyes.
"And Jin?" I asked about his oldest brother.
"Huh... the usual. Trying to stay handsome for the ladies. It's a hard job, but somebody gotta do it." He sighed, feigning exasperation.
"Well, you gotta give it to him. He has a way with the ladies. He has always had." I noted.
"So did you, if I remember correctly." He spoke in a low voice, already knowing how would I react.
"Don't go there, Tae." I answered abruptly. My mood changed from improved to sour in a matter of seconds.
"How are things at home if I'm not prying?" I started to massage my temples before answering.
"Never been worse." I replied with a sarcastic smile. Taehyung refrained himself from asking further questions.
"Ready when you are."
He didn't push further.

"Hello, Mr. Jeon. Nice to finally meet you face to face." Jane smiled a bit, hoping to hide the tension in her voice.
"Hello, Miss Lee. Nice to finally meet you, too." Jungkook answered back.
"Ehmmm... just a little clarification, if you don't mind. I'm Miss Jung, Miss Lee's Vice, and I'm filling in for Miss Lee today. She apologises deeply for not attending the meeting, but she didn't feel well. It was a sudden thing." Jane tried to explain the situation as best as she could without disclosing further details.
"Oh, sorry to hear about that. Give her my best wishes. I'm sure we'll have another occasion to catch up with each other." Jungkook answered sincerely, even though he wasn't very convinced at her excuse.
"Ah, Miss Jung. This is my Vice, Mr. Kim Taehyung." He gestured at Taehyung.
"Nice to meet you." Taehyung replied cheerily, acquanting her with his boxy smile.
Jane was trying to be as professional as she could when she first laid eyes on Jungkook. Those few pictures she could manage to find didn't do him justice, but when Taehyung gave her that boxy smile of his, she thought it was over for her.
Is this a corporation or a freaking modeling agency, she thought to herself. She had to pinch herself on the legs hard enough to focus back to the meeting.
"Same here." She said when she finally found the gift of speech again.
"Miss Jung, as a company, we have managed to find a nice location for the office space you would be needing here in Seoul but, I would like to extend an invitation to you and, obviously, Miss Lee to fly down here and check them out personally. So we can meet in person and discuss the details of the contract. I prefer discussing important matters face to face." Jungkook explained in a professional but cordial manner.
"Mr. Jeon, firstly, I would like to thank you for everything your company has done so far. We are very pleased with the outcome. And, about flying to Seoul, I have to check back with Miss Lee, but I'm sure there won't be any issues since this is a step we have to take, eventually. I'll email you the details, then."
With that, Jane finally managed to end the conference call. She got up and swiftly ran back to Y/n's office to check how she was doing and tell her about the meeting. But the thing she dreaded the most is that she had to tell Y/n they needed to fly to Seoul.

When I finally managed to calm myself down a bit, I heard the office door crack open. Jane came running in breathless.
"Oh Jane, thank God!" I exclaimed as soon as she materialized in front of me.
"How did it go?" I added before she could start telling me.
"It went smoothly, but that's not the most important thing right now. How are you feeling?" She asked worriedly as she kept checking me out, looking for any sign of the previous distress.
"I feel better, thanks." I answered in a mushy voice as I looked back at her, apologetically. I hope she didn't think I abandoned her in the worst moment.
"Y/n what happened there? I don't mean to pry, but I have never seen you like that, ever." She sat next to me on the couch, holding both my hands in hers. The heat emanating from her hands started to comfort me a bit.
"Do you remember my ex fiancee?! The one I left back in Seoul." She nodded and then asked.
"Ehmmm... yeah?! But what has it got to do with everything now, I mean... " She kept looking at me as if I was talking giberish and probably thought I lost reason.
"I never told you his name. I mean, it didn't matter at the time. Also because, it was too painful for me to say it out loud. And, I also thought I'd never see or hear from him again, until this morning." Jane, now intrigued by the whole word play, started jumping on the couch.
"Omg, guurrlll, spill the tea already. Did he call you? Did you speak to him?" She looked at me impatiently.
"Ehmmm...no, I didn't. You did! Just five minutes ago." I explained as she was trying to put two and two together to what I had just announced.
"Holy shit!" She exclaimed as she put both her hands over her mouth. "Is it Taehyung?! Please tell me it's not Taehyung." I chuckled nervously at her as she crossed her hands in prayer right in front of me, expectantly. I eyed her suspiciously.
"Tae was there, too?!" I asked, wanting to know more about my favorite bread cheeks.
"Gurl, focus!" She snaped her fingers in front of my face.
"No, it's not Taehyung... it's Jungkook." I finally managed to spill it out before closing my eyes and leaning my head against the back of the couch. A loud sigh of relief escaped my lips all of a sudden.
"I need a drink. Too much emotions for one day." She said, not taking her eyes off of me.
"Ah, by the way, we need to fly down to Seoul. The sooner, the better."
Jane added casually.
"What?!"
