"I want to see him. Please!" I was demanding of her when, again, a sudden loud thud on the office door brought me back to reality. I was ready to start yelling to whoever dared to enter without permission, only for me to see Se Ra. My mood went from confused to angry, in a heartbeat. And before I could open my mouth, she jumped in, saying,
"Oh my, I hope I didn't interrupt anything." She said with a fake apologetic expression.
"Yes, you did! We are in the middle of a meeting. This better be a matter of life and death." My head was splitting in half from the headache, and when I saw Se Ra at the door, I totally lost it. Secretary Cha was right behind her, clearly irritated by the sudden raid.
"Sorry, Sir. I tried to stop her and tell her you were in an important meeting but Mrs. Jeon walked past me." It was old news that Secretary Cha couldn't stand Se Ra for the life of it, but she was too professional to voice her thoughts out loud. But that didn't keep her from looking at Se Ra with a visibly annoyed expression, though.
"Thank you, Secretary Cha, I'll handle it. You may leave." She closed the door on her way out, but not without taking a last wry look at Se Ra's expense.
"Se Ra, what are you doing here? What is this novelty of showing up out of the blue in my workplace?!" She was trying to pretend she didn't feel humiliated by the way I was treating her in front of Y/n and continued to keep that pretentious smile on her face.
"I was just passing by and thought to surprise you." She said while turning to face Y/n, narrowing her eyes as she scrutinized her from head to toe.
"After five years, you still haven't learned how much I hate surprises?!" I was looking at Y/n out of the corner of my eye. She was feeling uncomfortable. All I wanted was to get rid of Se Ra as soon as possible when I heard Y/n speak.
"Ehmm... If you'll excuse me, I need to go. I have a prior engagement that I can't delay. We will discuss the details later, Mr. Jeon." She bowed to me, and I nodded. I was fuming with rage. It wasn't Y/n who needed to leave. It felt so wrong. Everything felt out of place, and I felt like suffocating. After Y/n left, I felt free to spurt out all of my anger.
"Se Ra, why are you here?" I yelled at her as she remained unfased by my behavior.
"My parents are coming to dinner tonight, and I wanted to make sure you would be there. Dad said it was important." She replied.
"They have invented phones, in case you didn't know." I commented sarcastically.
"You never answer the phone when I call you. And when you do, you just say yes or no." She twisted her lips as a sign of displeasure.
"What do you expect from me, huh?! I'm not you. I can't pretend we have a normal relationship when both of us know perfectly that we don't." I blurted out, even though I was holding myself back, a lot.
"Why do you hate me, Kookie?!" She said, in a hushed voice, trying to make me pity her.
"I told you to call me Jungkook. I don't like it when you call me Kookie." I replied swiftly.
"But, I'm your wife!" She answered furiously, finally dropping that stupid fake smile on her face.
"On paper, yes! We don't even sleep together, for fuck's sake" I huffed.
"Is it because of her, huh?! Are you still hung up on her, after five damn years?!" She was getting hysterical and yelling on the top of her lungs, showing her true colors.
"You bet I am! You knew that even before getting married. I told you this was just a business transaction, but you conveniently decided to ignore that." I slammed my hand on the desk, making her jump.
"I thought that, after a while, you would forget about her." She started crying, but I couldn't care less. Her tears didn't affect me the least.
"That is not going to happen, ever. Keep that in mind." I said in a firm but low voice, trying to distinctly spell out each word.
"You and Namjoon kept her identity very well hidden, didn't you?! Were you so afraid I might have done something to your precious lover?"
"Say what?!" I was dumbfounded by her revelation.
"I tried to find out who she was and even hired somebody to tap her, but all of my attempts went to waste." I couldn't believe what I just heard.
"Don't you think you overstepped your boundaries a little bit too much?! You gotta leave her alone! Did I make myself clear?" I stepped back otherwise, I didn't know what I would do to her.
"Oh, I left her alone, all right." She said, narrowing her eyes, tilting her head a bit and staring at her perfectly polished nails. Then, she raised her eyes and looked at me.
"After all, it's me, the one you married. Isn't that right, KOOKIE?!" She was really trying to get me to do something stupid, but I understood her game and kept my cool, as much as I could.
"Since we're having dinner with your parents, I would also like to talk to them."
"Talk to them about what?!" She was getting nervous knowing where I was going with this.
"Talk to them about divorce. Or, did you think I put it to rest?!" I huffed at her before adding.
"Now, if you please, I have a lot of work to do. You already know the way." I opened the door for her and went back to sit on my chair.
She looked at me furiously and slammed the door on her way out.
Now, the only thing on my mind was Y/n and my son. I really didn't care about anything else. To the hell with everything. I needed to talk to her. I wanted to see my son. I took the phone and started texting her.
"Baby, are you still around, or did you already leave? We need to talk, please. Feel free to barge into my office any time you want. I'll let Secretary Cha know. I'm really sorry I'm making you go through this again." I really hoped she would answer.
