Blaze was adamant that Solaris had to be destroyed, Shadow, however, was having none of it.
"Blaze, if this flame goes out then the universe could either be reset or destroyed. Do you honestly want a destroyed universe on your conscience when you die while floating around in space?"
Blaze didn't respond, she couldn't find a counter argument.
"Fine," she acquiesced, "We don't put out Solaris, but we should at least find it a better hiding place."
Shadow agreed to the compromise. They both removed the flame from its case and carried it with them to hide it better, in case Mephiles does come to steal it.

One week after saving the universe, Sonic and crew were having a tea party at Vanilla's house.
"Sonic," Said Amy, "How have you been holding up since..."
"I've been fine," Claimed Sonic, "Been taking my anger out on Badniks who try to ruin our day for the past seven days."
"So have ya accepted the fact that Shadow might not be coming back?" Asked Knuckles.
"KNUCKLES!" Tails, Amy, Cream and Vanilla scolded Knuckles.
"Don't listen to him, dear," Said Vanilla, "Shadow will turn up soon, I'm sure."
Sonic smiled up at Vanilla. He really liked her, always so motherly and kind to him.
"Yeah, Miss Vanilla," Said Sonic confidently, "Shadz is coming back."
Everybody flinched as a familiar, and annoying, voice was heard from outside.
"Attention! I have an important announcement I'm sure you'll hate!" Said Eggman from his Flying Fortress into a loudspeaker, "Your favourite fiend has returned! Your monarch of misery, the awesome Doctor Eggman! I am delighted to inform you that Möbius will soon be under my power! Surrender immediately, or you'll all be destroyed!"
"I fail to see the point of this." Said Metal to his master.
"Elementary, my dear Metal," Said Eggman, "If I cause enough chaos, Shadow's bound to show up eventually. Well, it works on Sonic anyway."
They were both interrupted by a strong force hitting the fortress. Both villains looked out the window and saw a hammer lodged into the side.
"Ok," Said Eggman irritatedly and rhetorically, "What wise guy hammered my hull?"
"Scanning..." Said Metal as he scanned the foreign object, "Hammer of Miss Amelia Rose detected." Metal then paused, "Logic error detected: why would Miss arose attack us if we were not bothering her?"
"HEY! EGGMAN!" Both villains heard the voice and Metal got his answer. It wasn't Amy who threw her hammer, but Sonic. Silver stood next to Sonic, both hedgehogs looking extremely pissed off.
"Don't you have ANY idea what time it is?!" Barked Sonic.
"Yeah! Turn down the volume or I'll push that flying loud speaker outta the sky!" Threatened Silver.
"Just because your boyfriend and girlfriend aren't here, don't take it out on me!" Eggman shouted back.
"Exactly!" Said Metal, "You should not blame my Master for something he did not do!"
"It certainly isn't MY fault neither Shadow or my descendant's adversary haven't shown up yet!" Eggman added, "In fact, I'm sure they're still in Mobotropolis because neither like you anymore!"
Sonic growled and fire started to radiate from his body, Iblis' flames showing themselves. Silver, meanwhile, had lost his pupils and started emitting psychic energy as he hovered a few feet off the ground. Teams Hero and Jubilee watched in fear.
"And they say I'm hotheaded." Knuckles whispered.
Recognising the danger, Metal attempted to diffuse the situation.
"Perhaps you should leave them be while they're in this angry state." He attempted.
"It'll be fine, Metal," Said Eggman blasayly and told Sonic he, "Better cool off, cupcake! We've got your ex's hammer and you can't touch us!"
Silver grabbed the hammer telekinetically and pulled it from the ship. Sonic put the hammer on the ground and glowered at Eggman while Metal watched on curiously.
"That silver hedgehog has psychic abilities. I must learn them for myself!" Thought Metal.
"DON'T STRIKE ME JUST BECAUSE YOU'RE BOTH STRUNG UP WITH SHADOW AND BLAZE!" Shouted Eggman.
That did it. Sonic turned super and Silver pushed all trees back psychically, both screaming in anger.
"YOU CREEP!!!!!!" Bellowed Silver.
"WELL WHERE'S YOUR GIRLFRIEND, CRYBABY????!!!!!" Taunted Eggman.
"I advise against teasing them, they're angry enough that they were both dumped." Worried Metal.
"WE WERE NOT DUMPED, METAL HEAD!!!!!!!" Insisted Sonic.
"OH YEAH? THEN HOW COME SHADOW'S HIDING FROM YOU IN ANOTHER CITY????!!!!!" Questioned Eggman.
Silver pushed Eggman's egg carrier back psychically in anger and Sonic spindashed into the ugly thing. Tails and Cream looked on worriedly.
"I've never seen Mister Sonic lose his temper like that." Said Cream worriedly.
"Me either," Tails agreed, "Then again, Sonic has been all depressed since Princess Sonya got us outta that pocket dimension."
"Do you think he'll ever be happy again, Tails?" Asked Cream. Tails smiled and kissed his girl friend on the forehead.
"Maybe, but Shadow has to show up first." He said and went up to bed with her. "Good night, Miss Vanilla."
"Good night, Mommy." Said Cream as he and Tails went upstairs to bed.
"Goodnight, dears." Said Vanilla while her daughter and her close friend went to bed.
Rogue flew over to the fortress, wearing a combination of a nightdress and a bra.
"I can hardly sleep at all," She said grouchily, "I'll show you what happens when my beauty sleep is disturbed, Eggman!"
Eggman noted the bat and got an idea.
"I won't rest until I track down Shadow and Blaze, and nobody else will either!" Declared Eggman, "So if you care about your beauty sleep so much, you better help me find that hedgehog and cat!"
Rogue rolled her eyes, which had bags full of blueberry stones beneath them.
"Fine," She huffed, "Lead the way, but this better not be a trap."
"Who, me?" Said Eggman devilishly.
"Get back here, Eggman!" Shouted Sonic, "I'm not finished with you yet!"
Amy ran outside, grabbed Silver's hand and made him grab Sonic with his telekinesis.
"Maybe you two should come inside," She offered, "We've got cookies, biscuits and tea."
Sonic calmed down and the Emeralds powers left him. Then Silver placed him safely back on the ground.
