Mephiles: Ever since I was a boy, my own father vowed
I must find a way to power through a noble brow.
I married once for love, but then my senses came,
I must marry for the stature of my spouse's name!
On to marriage number 2, I knew what I had to do,
My husband "fell ill" after a year or two.
I've solved problem one, now to deal with problem two,
His dow eyed little boy with a ginger point of view.
Would I ship him to a school? No.
I told him if he stayed,
He would have to pay the bills,
And so he became the maid.
Alice: He was lazy, he was crazy,
He was talking to the mice!
Mephiles: He was hopelessly naive, so he had to pay the price.
I moved him to the attic, out of sight and out of mind,
I could've kicked him out, but I'm benevolent and kind.
Alice: Father, your heart's too big for you~.
Mephiles: I did what I had to do!
After all, difficult children will take advantage of your good nature.
So you lock them up, throw away the key!
There's one on every family tree~.
Alice: Ungrateful, hateful, vile too,
The things he put you through!
Mephiles: Break their spirits so they obey,
Now they'll do whatever you say.
Maybe you'd call it cruel, but,
Others would call it love, tough love!
I ask you, is it a crime to strive for perfection in all things?
Scourge: No way! They're so cute when they're little, but then they grow up and just...ruin everything!
I never wanted children, life was better on my own,
All the screaming, nagging, chilled me to the bone.
Shade: But then we came across some wisps wondering free,
Their magic gave Scourge power, so we kept them all for him.
But someone found out 'bout them, now a spider held the power.
So we "borrowed" her, made her a boy and hid him in a tower.
Scourge: YEARS went by, oh the sacrifice!
And, against our better judgement, we fed him or twice.
Teenagers, now I see why wild eat them young!
Shade: But that's messy, manipulation's easily more fun.
A little guilt, a lot of force, and don't forget to lie,
Remind them that without you they'd shrivel up and die!
Scourge: They only had themselves to blame!
If you'd been there, you'd do the same.
So train them hard 'til they fall in line,
There's one way and it's only mine!
Rosie: Children are lazy,
Mephiles: Spoiled too.
All: But we know what to do!
Rosie: Govern them with a heart of stone,
Mephiles: Lock them up so they're all alone,
Shade: Maybe you'd call it cruel, but,
All: Others would call it love, tough love!
Scourge: Seriously, his own tower with a kingdom view and he runs off the first chance he gets!
Rosie: These spoiled brats think the world owes them something, but it doesn't.
Far and wide, I ruled a kingdom with a heavy hand,
But there was more, I had in mind a greater plan.
I never liked to share, so Alicia had to fall,
But her dumb daughter blocked my path to fairest of them all!
She was beefy, and stupid, and hopelessly optimistic,
She needed structure in her life, she was unrealistic.
I gave her chores and took away anything she'd enjoy,
But then I caught her playing piano...With a boy!
Love? Was I to just sit by and wait
For her to take my crown? No! She had sealed her fate!
She had to go, and so she did, and you know what they say,
An apple once a day keeps your enemies away!
Don't be fooled by their tender smile~.
Shade: Give an inch,
All: And they'll run a mile~~~~~!!!!
Our idea of a happy home
Is one where we live all alone!
Shade and Scourge: Dark!
Rosie: Depressing!
Mephiles: Desolate!
All: Now let's all drink to that!!!!
Alice: Call then wicked and call them mean,
Mephiles: Cruel and everything in between.
Scourge: You could say it's unjust,
Shade: Turning their hopes to dust.
Rosie: This is what we call love~!
All: Tough love!
