In the days following Kyojuro's freedom, Y/n never saw him. Not once. And, it wasn't like they weren't trying to see him, either. They'd asked Aizawa about him several times, but the man was no help. Y/n began trying to find Kyojuro on their own by exploring the U.A. campus alone, but there was no trace of him.

And then school began again, and Y/n couldn't spend all their time trying to find Kyojuro anymore.

"Y/n, are you ready?" Aizawa called out from the kitchen, his voice rough with tiredness.

Y/n was in their room, putting on their shoes with a faraway look. They were completely out of it- had been for the past few days. Ever since they passed out on the road and Aizawa found them, they'd been so tired. It wasn't tiredness that required sleep, it was just...tiredness. And Y/n didn't know how to solve it.

The half-demon slipped on their shoes and stood up. They felt like they were just going through the motions of getting ready, not actually doing so.

When Y/n exited their room and entered the kitchen, Aizawa's eyes widened slightly, "You look tired," He pointed out.

"Yeah," Y/n said dryly, "Thanks."

Aizawa and Y/n began to walk out the apartment door and to the main school building. Aizawa cleared his throat awkwardly, "Did you do anything last night?" He asked.

Y/n shook their head, "Just the usual." They drawled. 'The usual' was, of course, their endless search for Kyojuro that always came back fruitless.

Aizawa sighed and shook his head, "I told you already, you'll see Mr. Rengoku soon," He couldn't hide the distaste in his voice, "No reason to go searching for someone who'll show up eventually."

"He's my friend," Y/n combatted, "Of course I'm going to search for him."

"Y/n? Would you..." Aizawa paused mid-sentence, before scoffing and shaking his head, "Never mind, as I was saying, you'll see him soon enough. Just stop being so impatient."

Y/n rolled their eyes and laughed, "I'm starting to think you didn't free him at all," They joked, but there was something deeper to their words. A challenge? A threat? Aizawa couldn't quite tell.

The man tensed under Y/n's intense gaze, "Of course I let him out," He said matter-of-factly, "I told you I would. You can trust me, remember?"

"Ah," Y/n hummed, "I did tell you I trusted you, didn't I? Silly me."

"Right."

The rest of the walk was silent, save for the small pattering of Aizawa's footsteps. It was unnerving to Aizawa that he could never hear Y/n's footsteps. They could sneak up on him whenever they wanted to, and- Aizawa caught himself subconsciously scratching at his neck, and internally chastised himself.

Once the two made it to the large doors leading to class 1-a, Y/n flashed Aizawa a small smile before entering the room. Their classmates' gazes all shot up to look at them.

"Y/n!" Denki shouted, "Good job at the sports festival! That was crazy!"

Tenya nodded affirmatively, "Indeed! I was honored to have battled you!"

"That wasn't a real battle, Ten-Ten," Y/n replied, "You lost right away!" Tenya's face heated up. He must've been embarrassed. Y/n liked that expression on him.

"Oi!"

Y/n tore their eyes away from Tenya and looked at Bakugo, their smile not fading but certainly tightening, "Inubaka, hey," They said.

"You shithead coward! How dare you quit our battle?!" He shouted.

Y/n's lips formed into a small 'o' shape, "I must've forgotten, right..." They muttered, "Sorry, let's fight some other time then, yeah?"
