Ezara POV

"Why do you work with that guy?" Mazavir says, sitting down beside me. Vexel had left the bar and that simply left me with Mazavir.

"We're learning new information from each other. He isn't a bad guy." I state, taking a sip of my drink. "We're not exactly working together either. Just sharing information."

Mazavir just nods. "You never did tell me your name."

"I'm Ezara, and the grumpy necromancer is Vexel. We met not to long ago." Mazavir glances at the door again as if he expected Vexel to walk back through.

"So he doesn't side with the angels or the demons?" I nod. "There's something odd about him, I can't quite put my finger on it. Is he also marked by Lilith?"

"No. As far as I know, I'm the only person marked by Lilith who isn't a follower of her." Mazavir takes a sip of his own drink.

"We should keep an eye on the necromancer. He can't go much longer without picking a side. He will have to side with Lilith or us." I sigh.

"I'm sure he'll side with us. He just doesn't want to join a fight he thinks is worthless. Once he realizes the Eternal Conflict effects him too, he'll realize he'll have to join the fight. We can't let Lilith open the gates to hell. Sanctuary will be overrun with demons." I say. "Lilith is after Mephisto's essence."

"I think you're crazy if you're going after Lilith." The bartender says, leaning against the counter. I didn't even realize he had returned. "However, maybe I can help ya out. I don't want to go after the daughter of hatred myself, but I hear a thing or two from time to time."

"Anything helps." I say.

"She has a follower, a guy by the name of Balkin. He claims to be in direct contact with Lilith and he's one of her most loyal and notorious followers."

Mazavir raises an eyebrow. "Do you have any more information about this Balkin?" He asks, leaning against the counter. "Where he lives? What he does for Lilith?"

"Scosglen. I'd start there if I were you. There seems to always have some demonic shit going on there. Also I've have heard some rumors of Balkin making camp there. Im sure someone in Carrigar could tell you more." Mazavir nods then turns his attention to me.

"What do you say? Carrigar sounds like a good place to start. We could start at a tavern there like this one, maybe grab a few drinks while we're there." Mazavir gives a slight smile.

I just shrug. "Sure, why not?"

~~~~~~~~
"So, Ezara. What's your reason for fighting Lilith?" Mazavir looks over at me while taking a sip of his drink. I just shrug.
"Someone has to protect Sanctuary. I didn't ask to be marked by Lilith, but I'm going to use it to my advantage. Unlike those cultists of hers." I shake my head. "They're crazy for her, it's honestly weird to see anyone so devoted."
"She's brainwashed them. They have no idea what they're doing. They're too weak minded to fight Lilith, so they joined her." He had an angry look in his eye.
"You hate her for a different reason, don't you? I can see the anger and hate in your eyes. You're not trying to protect Sanctuary. You want to destroy Lilith." Mazavir sighs.
"Yes. Lilith killed someone I loved. She did it to spite me when I wouldn't join her. She came to the town I lived in at the time. Like these people," he gestures to the tavern. "I lived simply, I worked to provide for my family and kept my head down. Lilith invaded that town, either recruiting or killing everyone there. If they didn't join her, she ended them. It was different with me though. She said she knew I was different from the others there, that I was stronger than them. She wanted me specifically to join her so she killed my family because I refused. Now I want to make her suffer. That's why I want her gone."
