Vexel POV

The vampires were silent and fast, but they still left tracks. I found the spot they had spoken with Ezara and began tracking them. It didn't take long for me to find them walking a little further and off the trail. They were hidden, but not enough.

I saw the red eyed one, Arlex. She was talking to another one who's face I couldn't see. I could hear hushed but angry tones. After a few heated exchanges, Arlex stomps off. The other vampires move along, disappearing into the trees. I track her further into the forest while.

She drops for a moment, kicking a rock. I raise arms from the ground. They grab her by the ankles and I form a bone prison around her. I step out of the shadows and approach her. She twisted and turned but she couldn't escape my grasp.

"Who the hells are you?" She spits.

"I'm the one your master told you to stay away from." I state, crossing my arms in front of her. "However, I'm not a Deathspeaker anymore." Her eyes widen in disbelief.

"You're him?" She asks.

"It seems you didn't track us long enough to realize that." I state. "I'll ask the questions, you'll answer them. I know you were recently turned. You'll be easier to torture."

"Torture?" She asks, glancing around. "No, no. I know what you are.. the prime evil of torture. Please, let me go."

"You prey on innocent people." I state, but I was starting to feel excitement run through my body. A type of excitement I didn't want to feel. "You deserve whatever I do to you." I growl, taking a step closer. I tighten the grip of the skeletons hold her ankles. Her face twists in pain.

"I'll tell you everything." She says, pain lining her words. I pause, taking a deep breath. This isn't who I am anymore. I sigh and loosen the grip on her ankles. She sighs in relief.

"All I want to know is who your leader is." I state.

"I don't know." I believed her and it wasn't the vampiric charm. A new look was in her eyes: terror. She knew what I was and she knows that she's outmatched. I release her from my trap.

"Run away and I'll kill you." I state. "I want to meet your leader."

"Alright fine, I'd rather face her wrath then yours." She mumbles the last part. "I'll take you to them. Any other questions?" Now it seemed she was just trying to make conversation.

"Why Mazavir?" I ask. "Why did you bite him?"

"I don't know. I could smell the death on you and the dark haired girl. That's how I knew you two were necromancers and they weren't." Arlex responds with a shrug. "I also just like biting men."

"Mazavir is also a necromancer." I point out.

"He didn't smell like death. I could smell you deadraisers from miles away. After a while of doing that, it becomes a part of you." I nod slowly. I understood what she meant.

I hadn't taught Mazavir to raise the dead. He only knew other necromancy skills. That's why she didn't smell the scent of death on him.

After that, we walked in silence until we caught up with her vampire peers. They all got ready to fight when they saw me walking behind Arlex.

"Seems everyone else knows who he is and left me out of the loop." She says, rolling her eyes. "He's not here to kill us, I hope." She glances me and I shake my head. She looks back and scans the crowd of vampires. The blue eyed one stepped out.

"We'll talk about this later, Arlex." She growls. Her blue eyes dart to me. "What do you want, demon?"

"An audience with you." I state, stepping forward. I scan the crowd of vampires. They all looked nervous around me. They too were scared of me.
