Vexel POV

I was setting up the camp when I saw two horses riding towards me from a distance. I finish what I was doing and I wait. They stop near me and their riders dismount.

"I'm heading to the camp soon." I state, picking up my sword.

"Wait hold on." Ezara says. "What exactly is your plan? Frontal assault? Sneaking in?"

"I'm not a very sneaky person." I respond. "Frontal assault it is." Ezara frowns at that.

"You have to be careful. Balkin is dangerous."

I scoff at that. "I've fought worse. Just don't get in my way and it'll be over quickly. Mazavir should stay here."

"I want to be a part of this." He says and I glance over at him. "At least let me watch you... I haven't actually seen a lot of necromancy preformed." I sigh.

"Fine, but watch from a distance." I mount my horse. "Make sure neither of you are seen or heard." They just nod and remount their horses.

At that, we ride in silence until we were close to Balkin's camp. I dismount and the two stop. I hand the reins to Ezara.

I walk the rest of the way to the camp. I step up to the gates. "Get lost, necromancer." Someone shouts from beyond the wall.

"I don't think that's a way you greet someone." I respond, raising my voice. "I'd like to speak to Balkin."

The person behind the gate laughs. "No way in hell you're seeing him."

"Fine." I state, raising my arms. I push my hands forward as if pushing a wall. Spikes come out of the ground, smashing into the gates. They recede back into the ground, leaving the gate in splinters. I crawl through broken gate.

Balkin's men were ready for a fight but I could tell they were disoriented from my attack. I take a deep breath and raise the dead. Skeletons crawl from the earth, attacking the nearest targets. The clash of swords and screaming fills the air. I join in, unsheathing my sword and attacking the nearest guy.

I stab him in the gut and a skeleton comes from behind, stabbing him in the back of the head. I rip my sword from his abdomen and he falls to he ground in a pool of blood.

Much of the fight went on like that but they were losing. Who could really win against the undead? For every skeleton they took out, another was risen in their place.

"Enough!" A voice raises amongst the sounds of war. A man stood at a balcony that overlooked the battle. My skeletons pause, taking a few steps back. They got into a formation around me, warriors in front of me and mages behind.

"I assume your Balkin." I state. The battlefield was quiet. I knew he could hear me.

"Indeed. I'm sure we could figure something out. You're clearly strong enough to take this fort out." I nod simply.

"However, a bribe isn't want I'm here for. I'm here to end you." At that, action springs again. Skeletons versus men. I push though the fight, making my way towards the balcony Balkin was standing on.

I kick open a door that lead into the interior of the fort. Making my way up the stairs, I noticed Balkin standing at the top of them.

"This doesn't have to be an execution." He states. "Who hired you to do this?"

"No one. You work with Lilith. That is reason enough." I growl, stepping on the first step.

Balkin was quick to throw a hidden dagger at me. However, I didn't see it in time. The blade buries itself into my shoulder. I grunt in pain but make my way up the stairs. Balkin stood there. By the look on his face, he didn't know if he should run or fight.
