Vexel POV

I take a deep breath, softly knocking on the wooden door to Railis' home. The door opens and I'm greeted with a welcoming smile.

"It's always a pleasure to see you here, Vexel." She says, opening the door for me to enter. I pause at the threshold. "Is something bothering you, dear?" She asks, noticing my hesitation.

"I'm not sure." I state with a sigh. "Your prime evil. Have you learned anything else about him?"

"I inspected those tomes again. Come in, I'll show you." She says, and I step into her home. "Have a seat. I'll find the one I'm thinking of in a moment." She heads to a desk on the far side of the room and starts digging through a pile of books. "Hmm. I left it here yesterday..." she says, still looking through them. "Here we are." She says, pulling out a book. Parts of it looked burnt and the pages were tattered. "Have a seat." She gestures to a chair by another table.

I sit down and she sets the tattered book in front of me. She opens the book to the back pages. They were torn and burnt. The text was unreadable. She holds the book in place as she looks for a curtain page. She pauses when she finds it. The page was burnt at tattered like the others, but some of the words were readable.

"This word here." She says, pointing at something on the page. The word was capitalized, it started with the letter V. "I believe that was his name, but I can't make out what it should've said. The page is torn." I noticed that. The word was ripped in half. Only a few letters remained on the page. "I can't see what the other letters are, only that his name starts with V."

"V... y... r" I read. "The rest is torn. I can't make it out."

"Vyr." Railis repeats. "Does that page say anything else? Can you make it out?" I look over the page, trying to figure anything else.

There it was. The word we were trying to read. It was spelled out on a different part of the page. This time, the word wasn't split in half because of a tear in the page or a burn mark.

"Vyriviz." I state. "That is who he is." My heart sinks when I read the name out loud. "He... is me." I confess. Railis looks up at me, confusion written on her face.

"What do you mean, he is you?" She states. She knew what I meant but she wanted me to say it again.

"I am Vyriviz. I'm the prime evil you've been looking for. I'm the reason balance is disrupted. Vyriviz is my surname." I say slowly as if it was a confession. It felt as if it was. I felt horrible inside. I am the very thing I've told myself to hate.

As much as I didn't want to be a demon, I was a prime evil which was worse. I could've accepted being half angel, half demon. I might've been able to accept it if I was just a demon. Now I had to live with the fact that I am a prime evil. there was no denying it now. It was written in ancient text.

"Are you sure it isn't some other Vyriviz?" Railis asks, but she knew it was a stupid question. "You look like us, human. There's no way you're a prime evil. They don't hide amongst us by masking as humans."

"I... don't know." I confess. "I've always felt different, stronger, then humans." I look down at the page again. This was new territory for me. I didn't know what my powers were, or what they were supposed to be. I scanned the burnt and torn pages, but I only saw what Railis has already told me. Vyriviz... I was the prime evil of torture. All roads lead to me.

"Do you feel as if this is true?" She asks, watching me intently. "Do you believe you are this prime evil?"

I close the tome and stare at its cover, thinking. I take a deep breath. "I'm unsure." I state. "It would explain the... gaps in my memory. It would explain what Lilith said to me."
