Vexel POV
I create a portal into the library. I appear behind the librarian. Blood was on the ground at his feet, pleading for mercy. The boy had blood dripping from the side of his head. His skin was pale and his expression was terrified.
The librarian had a pice of wood in his hands. The wood was bloodied and beaten. "That is enough." I state. The librarian turns towards me, his expression furious.
"How did you get in here?" He growls. He still held the piece of wood. There was fresh blood dripping from it.
"You have no idea who I am." I respond. By the look on his face, he didn't care who I was. "Perhaps it's better that way. If you want to fight, fight someone who will actually defend themself."
"A corpse won't be hard to kill." The old man spits. "Just you and me, no magic and no undead."
"No." I state. "That would be a fair fight. That wasn't fair." I say, gesturing towards Blood.
Before the librarian could react, I hold up my hands. I glance at Blood. "You hate what he can do, and he is still learning. You will know what it's like to fight a master of his art."
I take a deep breath, creating a connection between him and I through a blood link. I felt his fury, his anger towards Blood and I. However, I've been trained to control my emotions. I take his anger and set it aside, staying focused on the task at hand.
I begin siphoning the life force from him. As I grew stronger from his essence, he grew weaker. His expression of fury turns to pain. His breathing gets faster and sweat beads on his forehead.
"What.. are you doing... to me?" He asks, surprise seeping through the pain.
"I'm siphoning your life force." I say, stepping closer. He groans and falls to his knees, growing weaker by the second.
I cut the connection and he lays there on the ground, weak and helpless. "How does it feel to be at the mercy of another?" I state.
I look towards the door as someone pounds on it. "Vexel?" I hear Ezara's voice. "Are you in there?" I turn my attention back to the librarian.
Blood was wiping the blood from the side of his head, watching me with a strange curiosity. I hold up my hands again, manipulating the librarian's blood. I force him back to his knees.
"Killing me will only prove my point, monster." He says, almost laughing. "The boy will see what you really are! He will give up his dream of being like you!" He stares at me, but I betray no emotion.
I glance over at the scared and helpless Blood. I gesture for him to come over to me. He hesitantly stands and walks over. He was disoriented and struggling to walk, but he made it over.
I release the librarian from my grip. He sits there on his knees, trying to gather himself. "He will never be like me." I state. "He will never meet someone else like me. He knows what I am." I nod towards Blood.
"You're a necromancer, that's all that matters. You deal with matters you don't understand. Leave the dead to rest." I sigh.
"I'm everything your kind hate, but I'm everything you're not." I state.
"Daerin..." Blood starts.
"Shut up, boy!" The librarian shouts.
I manipulate Daerin's blood again, forcing him still. "No, you shut up." I take a step closer. "Your days of abuse are over."
I push him away from us, sending his body sliding across the floor. He shakily stands up, his face twisted in fury.
"You're not even trying, are you?" Blood asks. I shake my head.
