Vexel POV

I knock on the door and wait a few moments. The door swings open and Railis stands before me.

"Vexel? What are you doing here?" She says, stepping out of the doorway. "Come in."

I enter her home and turn towards her. "You know a lot about angels and demons, correct?"

Railis nods. "Yes, I've been studying them my entire life. However, I know more about the demons than I do the angels. Why do you ask?"

"I was wondering if you could help me with something that ails me." Railis nods.

"I'll do my best, have a seat." I do ask she says. I sit down on a seat in her living room. "However, I must ask one thing. What does this have to do with the angels and demons?"

"I don't exactly know." I state. "I figured if it had something to do with them, you would know."

"I would know. Tell me what it is then." I take a deep breath.

"There's something that happens to me when I am in grave danger. That or my emotions get out of hand. I become numb to everything. All feeling and emotions just gone. I'll kill people I care about and anyone else around me." I confess. I close my eyes for a moment. "I almost killed Ezara and her friend. I also almost killed one of my past students."

"Did this happen recently?" Railis asks and I nod. "Tell me what happened, all of it."

"There isn't much to it. Vayle attacked me and I defended myself. She started getting the better of me; manipulating the blood in my body. At one point, I thought she was going to kill me. She wouldn't stop. Then this overwhelming sense of warmth came over me. It spread from my chest to my limbs. I broke free from her manipulation. I created a spear out of a dark substance that seemed to come from me. I almost stabbed her until Mazavir stood between us. However I didn't care about who he was. I was prepared to stab that spear through his heart until Ezara stabbed me in the back."

Railis stands there for a moment in silence. "I... don't know what that could be. It sounds like a power I've never seen before. Nor one that's recorded to be demonic or angelic." I sigh. I suspected she wouldn't know either.

"If you find something out, please let me know. I can't remember how long it's been like this, but I don't want to end up killing someone I care about." Railis nods.

"Thank you for coming by, Vexel." She states. "If you figure it out, let me know as well. Definitely do if it's connected to angels and demons."

I turn towards the door when there was another knock. "Two visitors in one day?" Railis raises and eyebrow and opens the door. I frown when I see who it is.

"Hello, mentor." Vayle says with a smile plastered on her pale face. "Just the necromancer I wanted to see."

"Leave, Vayle. You're not welcome here." I state, crossing my arms.

"You are not." Railis says. "Leave, now."

"I'm not here for you." Vayle says to Railis. "I'm here to talk to Vexel."

"We have nothing to talk about." I respond. "There was nothing left to talk about after you joined Lilith. I don't want to associate with you."

"Like it or not, you'll have to." She states. I sigh.

I step towards the door. "Leave, now." I growl. Vayle shakes her head.

"Not until you and I talk. Then I'll leave."

"Fine, we'll talk. Not here though." Vayle backs up and I leave Railis' house. I nod to her then close the door behind me. "What do you want?" I ask.

"I want you to join me. Join Lilith." I laugh.
