Vayle POV

"Neither of them will join. I spoke to both Mazavir and Vexel. They're hellbent on what paths they walk. Mazavir won't join because Lilith murdered someone he cared about, Vexel won't join because he believes he'll destroy everything in his path." I state, crossing my arms. "I know the Blessed Mother will not be pleased."

"She won't." Iridith states. The woman seemed familiar but I could never put my finger on it. It was as if I knew her before knowing her. "She wants Mazavir to lead the humans and she wants Vexel to be the real protector. She knows he doesn't meddle in affairs he doesn't believe in. Leave this be for now. I'll take care of the two of them."

"And what are you going to do that I already haven't?" I ask. "I have tried to appeal to them in different ways. Nothing has worked. Maybe if Lilith didn't destroy everything to make a point, Mazavir wouldn't hate her. I don't think the two of them will side with us."

"There's no matter of if, but when. Once they see the truth of Mother's ways, they will understand their place with her. I will speak with Mazavir at some point. He seems more... weak minded than Vexel." I nod slowly. "You're dismissed." She states, waving a hand to shoo me off.

"There's one more thing." I state. "Maybe the reason you don't see Vexel as weak minded. He might be a Nephalem." Iridith turns towards me with an eyebrow raised. She wore a long red dress. She had a helmet on that resembled Lilith's horns. She looked just as human as I was, yet she acted like she was something more.

"I haven't seen a Nephalem since they defeated Diablo. That particular Nephalem is gone." Iridith says. Now she seemed more annoyed at the suggestion.

"He has a strange power that seems demonic in nature, I couldn't be sure though. I was going to kill him last time, before I knew of his importance. Right before I was about to, he broke free from my power. He created this dark substance and it formed a spear around his arm. He almost stabbed it right through me." Iridith just laughs.

"So you came here to bother me about this? It seems you're just upset that he beat you and you want to make an excuse for your defeat. It sounds like he was just doing what necromancers do, stealing the essence around them as a source of their power. You should know how that is." I sigh in annoyance.

"I do, in fact." I state. "What he did was something a normal necromancer can't do. If I could do what he did, I would be using that power. Whatever he is, he isn't just a normal necromancer. Even so, I know him. If that was a power necromancers could use, he wouldn't have learned it. He would've left it be."

"He trained you, yes. You are naive to think he would've shown you everything he knows. I have more to worry about than some hot shot necromancer who isn't even a threat to us." I grit my teeth.

"You're the naive one, Iridith. He's a Nephalem, we're just human. A Nephalem could easily kill us, no matter how powerful you think you are. If Vexel is a Nephalem, one's he realizes his true power, we won't be a challenge for him." I state, crossing my arms

"I was Inarius and Lilith's first child. I have more power than any Nephalem ever has had. While they were merely the children of angels and demons, I am the daughter of an angel and the daughter of a prime evil." She glares at me. "Next time you question my power, I won't hesitate to put you in your place, with force."

I pause. "You're Lilith's daughter?" Iridith rolls her eyes. "That explains so many things. You look just like her, but more human."

"I'll deal with Vexel and Mazavir, you can go back to Mother. She has another task for you." Iridith says, walking away from me.

"I want to come with you when you 'deal' with Mazavir and Vexel."

Iridith looks at me for a moment. "Why? So you can make sure I don't kill them or something? If they're not with Lilith, they're against her. You know this."
