(Y/N) and Gojo walked past each other, but neither spoke a word and barely even spared each other a glance. As soon as she turned a corner, the girl called Shoko, as promised.
"Do you need me anywhere?"
"No, it's okay. We're all at school now." her friend replies.
"Want me to come over?"
"I'm good for now, so there's no need for you to rush."
"Okay. I'll talk to you when I get back then."
She ends the call and slumps down against the wall. From where she was, (Y/N) could hear the voices of her two friends, but she couldn't make out what they were saying.
......
"You're late Satoru." Geto says. "To think you're the one here at my end. Are you going to make sure my family is safe?"
"Every single one of them managed to escape to safety." Gojo replies. "The ones in Kyoto, they were under your command?"
"Yes, they were. Unlike you Satoru, I'm a kind person. You sent those two assuming that I'd defeat them, didn't you? To set Okkotsu off."
"I trusted you'd be yourself. Trusted that a man as principled as you wouldn't kill off young sorcerers without a reason."
"You wanna talk about trust?" Geto chuckles weakly, with what seems to be a smile. "I didn't think I had any of that left in me. After everything I've been through... But I'm surprised (F/N) didn't show up. In a situation like that, I thought she would."
"She wanted to. I didn't let her."
"You trusted I wouldn't kill your students, but you couldn't send her?"
The white-haired sorcerer stays quiet, not answering his question.
"Of course.. You both really are still the same." he smiles almost fondly. "Return this for me will you?"
The long-haired man throws Okkotsu's student card at Gojo who looks at it for a bit.
"Was the elementary school your doing too?"
"Yes, it was."
"I can't believe you." Gojo says. "Tell me. Do you have any last words?"
"No matter what anyone tells you, I hate those monkeys. But, I never held any hatred for those in jujutsu high school." the dark-haired sorcerer replies. "I just couldn't wear a heartfelt smile, living in this world."
"Suguru." the blindfolded man walks towards his friend, giving him his final words.
"The least you could do, is hit me with some curses." Geto smiles weakly.
Slash.
......
It felt like a part of her died, yet no tears came out. She couldn't make out a single bit of what they were saying, but when she heard the slash, she knew it was over.
He was gone.
The sound of approaching footsteps could be heard and she looked up to see Gojo standing in front of her. (Y/N) stood up without meeting his gaze and the two started walking beside each other in silence.
......
"Rika..?"
"Congratulations, you broke the curse." (Y/N) says to Okkotsu while Gojo claps his hand.
"Who is that?" the students ask, confused.
"I'm your good-looking teacher. Satoru Gojo." he replies blankly.
"Your teacher here thought the theory Yuta came up with was interesting, so he requested an investigation into both his and Rika's families." (Y/N) explains.
"The information about Rika's family came to me a long time ago, but Yuta's history was full of holes. That's when it all came to light." the blindfolded man continues. "You're the decedent of Sugawara Michizane, which makes us super distant relatives!"
Everyone, other than (Y/N) and Gojo, who was dancing happily, was surprised.
"So you were right. Rika didn't curse you, you placed a curse on Rika." Gojo says. "Now, the one who placed the curse has canceled the bond. As long as the person who was cursed doesn't seek retribution from you, the curse is fully broken."
Okkotsu, unable to take in this revelation, fell to his knees, crying and blaming himself. Rika, now in human form, walked over and gently hugged him.
"Yuta, thank you. For giving me more time and letting me stay by your side. During the six years I was cursed, I've been happier than I ever was before."
The three other students along with their teacher and (Y/N) watched with soft smiles on their faces.
"Bye Yuta, take care." the little girl smiles, slowly fading away. "And don't join me anytime soon, okay? See you later!"
She then disappears, leaving a trail of beautiful bubbles in the sky.
......
(Y/N) went to meet Shoko and two friends were sitting together, both holding warm cups.
"I gave him your message."
"Yeah? Did he get pissed off?"
(Y/N) laughs.
"No, he didn't." she replies. "But he had a few words for you too."
"Really?"
"She still hasn't paid me back for the lighter I bought."
Shoko looks at her friend, surprised, before laughing.
"A little late huh?" the girl says, tears forming in her eyes.
(Y/N) pulls her into a hug and she cries, hugging her back tightly.
"You're my best friend Shoko. l never leave you all alone."
......
Gojo and Okkotsu were walking back together in the snowy weather.
"It's a bit late to tell you, but you weren't at fault for the incident with Geto. He would have attacked Jujutsu High School whether you were here or not."
"You think so?" the boy asks.
"I believe this is yours." the teacher says.
"Oh, my student ID! Thanks for finding it for me Gojo."
"No, it wasn't me." he replies with a sad smile. "It was my best friend. My one and only."
