It was pretty much dark outside other than the soft lantern lights glowing. Gojo brought (Y/N) to a small hill and although there were still a few people, it was much more peaceful than the loud crowds.
"The view is so great from here!" the (H/C)-haired girl exclaims as he lets go of her.
"Yeah, it is." the blindfolded sorcerer replies softly.
Not even a minute later, the fireworks started, catching everyone's attention.
"So pretty.." (Y/N) whispers.
"I have a surprise for you." Gojo says, making her turn to him.
"Other one? This spot is already a great surprise." she smiles, her eyes sparkling happily.
"I hope you'll like the next one even more then." he replies. "Look up."
And she did.
......
(Y/N)'s pov
"I love you (F/N)."
Those words were up there in the sky, spelled out by the magnificent sparks.
My heartbeat quickens. It felt as though time had stopped.
"He did that..?" I think, still amazed and surprised as the words start disappearing.
I turn to look at him, opening my mouth to say something but he stops me before I can.
"Shh. We'll talk right after. Just enjoy."
He then turns his gaze back to the colorful display still going on.
But no matter how splendid the fireworks were, I couldn't focus on them. My heart was still beating so fast, I felt happy, excited, or maybe a mix of the two.
It felt like I couldn't actually process what had just happened. It seemed almost surreal.
Despite all that, if there was one thing clear to me, it's the fact I love him.
I don't know when I fell for him and I can't give a specific reason why. I just do. I love how fun and easygoing he is. I love how caring he is. I love how he looks out for his students or just anyone that matters to him. I love his voice, his smile, his laugh, his eyes. I love him.
The idiot who likes sweets and pulling pranks. The one that's always teasing people and often getting into trouble. The one who always manages to lift my mood.
I love him because he's Gojo.
......
3rd person pov
The fireworks were done. People everywhere were chattering and a lot were taking their leave. Gojo turned to (Y/N).
"So-"
"When did you plan all that?" she interrupts.
"Today. Right after we got here."
"That last minute?!? How d'you even pull it off??"
"It cost extra because it wasn't planned in advance, but-"
"Geez." the girl chuckles, interrupting him again. "Only you could make something like that happen."
He looks at her, uncertain of what to take from what she's saying.
"Gojo." (Y/N) says with a soft smile, meeting his eyes. "I love you too."
Upon hearing those words, the white-haired man immediately pulled her into his embrace and she hugged him back.
"I love you so much." he whispers in her ear.
......
Soon after, the two sorcerers met up with their students and they walked around for a little longer, chatting.
"I still can't believe it." Kugusaki says. "(F/N)'s name was literally written in the sky!"
"It's so extra. And so Gojo."
"Aw, c'mon Megumi." the white-haired man replies teasingly. "Don't be jealous."
The boy rolled his eyes. Not too long after, the five of them boarded the train and returned to school.
......
After the three first years went back to their respective rooms, Gojo and (Y/N) decided to take a stroll around the school grounds.
"Have you told Shoko yet?"
"Hm? Told her what?"
"That we're dating."
"Are we though?" the (H/C)-haired girl teases. "I mean, you only confessed. Unless my memory is failing me, there was no asking out."
"Oh, so you were planning on going out with someone else?" the tall sorcerer teases back. "Even after that great confession?"
"Wellll-"
"Hey!"
He stops walking, looking at her with an amused smile. She stops too, smiling back.
"Satoru, will you give me the honor of being your girlfriend?"
Not expecting that, Gojo froze for a few seconds before grinning.
"I knew you'd never be able to resist my charms." he says almost smugly. "And I'm supposed to ask you out, not the other way around."
"You didn't answer m-"
"I would love to be your boyfriend, miss (F/N)." the blindfolded sorcerer interrupts. "I love you."
......
A few weeks went by and everyone's lives went on as usual. Training, missions, reports, hangouts... The only difference was probably how the two lovebirds had started spending more time together, often with Itadori and Kugisaki as 3rd and 4th wheel. Oh, and they dragged Fushiguro along too, so make that five.
At some point, Shoko was also (finally) able to convince her friend to go to a bar together after work.
"Your boyfriend's not coming?" she teases.
"No, he is not." she replies, smiling slightly. "He said he'll come to pick us up later though."
"Us? As in you and me?"
"Yeah of course."
"Well thank you. But I'm good, Ijichi said he'd come to pick me up." the brown-haired woman says before changing the subject. "What do you wanna drink? It's on me."
"Order anything, I don't mind." (Y/N) answers, leaning back on the chair, not even bothering to hide her amusement.
While they were waiting for their drinks, a knock came from the door and the voice of their fellow sorcerer was heard.
"Oh right, I forgot to tell you Nanami would be here." Shoko says as the man greets them and takes a seat.
"It's not a problem at all." the (H/C)-haired girl smiles, greeting him back.
The slight awkwardness soon dissipated as they talked. The evening was enjoyable, catching up with friends was always fun. Even if it was mostly complaining about work.
......
The next morning, (Y/N) dropped off some breakfast at the first years' respective rooms and told them that both she and Gojo had to go on business trips.
"Stay out of trouble all right?" she had said.
Little did they know the higher-ups had other plans.
