Soon enough, July had arrived. The three first years and (Y/N) were waiting for Gojo at the school gate where they'd agreed to meet up.

"Urgh, why are none of you in yukatas except (F/N), you're all so boring." Kugisaki complains.

"Hey-" Itadori starts.

"It doesn't matter, we're still all gonna have fun." the older girl interrupts, a light smile on her face. "Also Nobara, you are stunning."

"I know right, the yukata is so pretty and it suits me so well!" she exclaims. "Do you think Gojo will be wearing one?"

"Probably not."

"He's late." Fushiguro remarks.

"It's okay, we can wait a little."

The dark-haired boy glances at her, slightly surprised. Not that being patient or forgiving was new for her, but right now, she just seemed to be in an overall better mood.

"Hey!" a voice suddenly says.

"Gojo!" Itadori exclaims.

"Alright, we're ready to go then?" (Y/N) asks.

Gojo stood there for a few seconds, lips slightly parted, star- I mean looking at her before snapping back.

"Yeah, let's go!" he answers, the three students nodding in agreement.

......

Gojo's pov

While we were on our way to the festival, I couldn't help but think of her, smiling, in that yukata.

She's stunning.

Not that she was ever bad-looking, not at all. I'd just gotten so used to seeing her in her uniform, I mean I rarely see her wearing anything else, but-

Maybe it's because it's a different style. Maybe she did her makeup or hair differently. Maybe it's just the festivity getting to me.

Who am I kidding?

None of that matters. None of it is true. It's not the first time I found myself getting drawn to her. Far from that actually.

She's kind, genuine, but also stubborn. She's hardworking as well as sensitive. Her voice is reassuring, her laugh lights up my day, and her smile... It's so warm.

And she's always been here for me.

Since I first met her until now, she's never left my side. I've distanced myself, I've pushed her away, but she was always there when I needed her. She was always beside me.

So why didn't I notice earlier? Everything makes sense now. This is why I felt like that when she took care of me, why I always wanted to hold her close, protect her, and be with her.

Feelings I've ignored for I don't know how long, that subconsciously I've been denying.

They never stopped growing.

I love her. So much.

"Heyy Gojooo, we're here!" a voice interrupts my thoughts.

I snap back to reality to see (Y/N) waving her hand in front of me.

"Come on, let's go!" she says, grabbing my wrist and pulling me along, a happy smile on her face.

I'll tell her. I'll let her know how I feel. I don't want to waste more time than I already have.

I'll do it before today ends.

......

3rd person pov

The five sorcerers tried their best to stay together through the big crowds, going from stall to stall.

"Gojo." (Y/N) says letting go of his hand. "You can turn on your infinity."

"Did you sense something unusual?" he asks, alert.

"No no no that's not what I meant." she replies. "You just look uncomfortable with all the people bumping into you and all that."

"Oh. It's- It's okay. I- Don't wanna lose you in the crowd."

"I'll be fine. I'll stay right beside you." the girl smiles. "I'm pretty sure you never really liked making physical contact with strangers, and that's okay. Honestly, just do whatever you feel more comfortable with, I want you to be able to have fun too."

The white-haired man smiles back slightly before turning on his infinity.

A while later, the group kind of got separated. The three students had run off somewhere and were nowhere to be seen. While looking for them, (Y/N) and Gojo came across a lovely dance performance, so they decided to stop.

Somehow, (Y/N) and a few others got dragged into the middle and were invited to dance with the dancers. After a bit of hesitation a first, she joined in.

Her steps were graceful, every movement she made was in sync with the music. She seemed so happy and so free.

"She's beautiful." Gojo thinks, watching her, his blue eyes bright.

"I FOUND THEM!" a familiar voice suddenly exclaims.

"ITADORI STOP RUNNING ALL OVER THE PLACE!" Kugisaki yells. "Wha-"

The girl freezes as she sees her part-time teacher.

"That's (F/N)!" Itadori exclaims again.

"I know it is dumbass!" she retorts.

"HEY MEGUMI OVER HERE! (F/N)'S DANCING!" the pink-haired boy shouts, waving at his friend who walked over.

"She's gorgeous." Kugisaki says.

"Yeah! She can dance!"

"Of course she can." Fushiguro replies. "She loves it too."

He couldn't help but smile as she twirled before offering a hand to a small girl and started dancing with her, bringing him back memories from when he was younger.

......

(Y/N)'s pov

I love dancing. It makes me happy. I love music and being able to follow it. I love how dancing can spread the happiness I feel. I lo-

My (E/C) eyes meet his blue ones.

I love having him by my side. I love being with him. I want him to know.

But what if I ruined everything we have by telling him I want to be by his side forever?

It's not worth it.

Being where we are now, it's all I could ever ask for.

"And I have a family again." I think, smiling as my gaze meets my students'.

I can't be too greedy.

The music finally stopped. By then, a tone of people had joined in and everyone was laughing and smiling. The atmosphere was as happy as it could get.

"Fireworks should be starting soon!" (Y/N) calls out to the others.

"Let's go find a good spot to watch them!" Itadori exclaims enthusiastically.

"Sorry kids, but me and (F/N) have to go somewhere for a bit, we'll be right back." Gojo says.

"What are yo-!" the girl starts as he runs away, holding her hand.

"HEY!" Kugisaki shouts.

"Let them go." Fushiguro says. "I'm sure (F/N) will still get to see the fireworks if that's what you're worried about."

"Yeah yeah." the short-haired girl replies. "Let's go find a spot."
