"So are you gonna tell me why you were smiling the whole time on the way home?"
Jimin snaps out of his daydream while taking off his shoes. He looks up at his father, frowning. "I wasn't smiling."
The older man takes off his own shoes and place them on the rack near the door, walking into the living room and plopping on to the couch.
"Sure you weren't." He teases. "Tell me about your day."
"You sound like my therapist," Jimin scoffs, rolling his eyes. "I went to class, went to the pack lands and then home."
His father raises an eyebrow. "Leaving out any details?"
Jimin sighs, walking towards the kitchen to grab a snack. He assumes that his dad knows he shifted. It should be obvious considering his scent is relatively stronger now and he's not in heat. Plus, he felt more in tune with his inner wolf and could sense the positive pheromones radiating from his dad. He's clearly happy that his only son shifted. He hasn't shifted since before his mom passed away.
"I went on a run in wolf form." Jimin admits from the kitchen.
"And...?"
The teen rolls his eyes. Of course his dad can probably also tell that he wasn't alone. Jimin himself can still smell Yoongi's scent on him and that was about two hours ago. He also still smells like lake water and soil, a side effect of shifting and running around the forest like crazy.
"And I went with Yoongi."
Jimin returns to the living room with an orange but stops once he sees a strange look on his father's face. "What?" He asks.
His dad turns to him with pursed eyebrows. "You went on a run with Yoongi?"
Shrugging, Jimin answers. "Yeah. Why are you so concerned?"
"Well, you went on a run with an alpha, Jimin." His father says as if it isn't obvious.
"Duh."
"Duh?"
Jimin scoffs, sitting down on the couch next to him. "Yeah, duh."
"No," his father says, quite seriously. "Not duh. You went on a run with an alpha, Jimin. That's a big deal. Especially since Yoongi is the upcoming head alpha."
Jimin is surprised at the change of tone from his dad. His confusion couldn't be any more prevalent. He doesn't understand what's so special about going on a run. Yoongi only came with him so that he wasn't attacked or bothered by the other pack mates since he isn't a member of the pack. There isn't anything important or special about it. It's just a run in a forest with Yoongi. Who just so happens to be the upcoming head alpha of the pack.
"Jiminie, you do know what that means right?" His dad asks him, though he figures Jimin does not actually know the significance of a run.
As expected, Jimin rolls his eyes. "Why do you make everything seem so important. It's not a big deal, its just a run."
His father sighs and turns towards him. He looks at him seriously, dropping the teasing and playfulness he had earlier. "First Yoongi courts you, then he protects you, he brings you food, takes care of you when you're sick, and now you two went on a run. There is a significance in all of that. When an alpha takes you on a run, that's the equivalent to them saying "I want to be with you." Do you understand that?"
Jimin shakes his head. "I don't think it was like that though. I still...I still don't forgive him."
"And I don't either," his dad mumbles. "But going on a run together is something mates do. Your mother and I went on a run when we first started dating. Alpha's don't go on runs with just anyone."
