At that moment my whole world felt like it was crashing down. My breathing became unsteady, I wipe my palms on my pants repeatedly to keep the sweat from overtaking them. I take a deep breath and exhale through my nose as I stare up at him. Out of the side of my eye, I notice Simon with a small smirk on his face. Of course he told.

"I have no idea what you mean." I lie as I tilt my head to the side. "Dad this is ridiculous. I've been here with you, and Maggie has been here at the Hilltop. She wasn't even at Alexandria when I left." I say crossing my arms and leaning slightly on my right hip.

"Simon come here." Dad lifts his hand motioning Simon over. Once Simon arrives by dads side, like the mutt he is, dad turns back towards. "Tell me what you heard again when you were waiting for Sarah." He demands.

"My pleasure." He smirks and stares me down, "I heard her a little Miss Maggie talking about some type of plan. Involving a man named Eugene. I didn't hear much, but I do know whatever it was had to deal with our group versus Rick's." He finishes.

I roll my eyes. "This is ridiculous! How the hell would I have time to plan this. Besides if it were true Maggie wouldn't even be able to make it back to Alexandria to tell the group before you guys go back for your supply run." I say, the lies continuing to flow out of my mouth.

"We will see." Dad pauses as the rest of the men gather around us. "Men! Listen up! I need you all to keep an eye out for Eugene. He's the ugly one with the mullet from Rick's lineup!" He talks out loudly. I smirk to myself realizing he was stupid enough to fall for the trap. The men nod before the attend back to their vehicles and climb in.

Dad doesn't say another word to me as he walks towards the truck, I follow directly behind him before splitting to go to my side and hopping in. "I promise I didn't say anything. Maggie and I was just talking about how Eugene got caught and how it ruined our chance of having our whole crew survive." I whisper out.

He shrugs his shoulders not replying to what I had said as he starts the truck up and moves out. I sigh as I lean my head against the window, each bump making it sling back and then hit against the window until I was sure I had a knot. But, I didn't care.

The ride back to The Sanctuary seemed faster then it did when we left. The mixture of cars and trucks behind us in the review mirror was the only thing that could occupy my mind at the moment.

"I believe you." My dad says drawing my from my thoughts. I lean my head off the window and turn to face him as I tilt my head to the side in curiosity. "Simon doesn't always tell the truth. He tends to spice things up a bit. He lives for action." He explains.

I slowly advert my eyes back to the road and sigh heavily. "Thank you." I mumble out. I had no idea what else to say. A weird feeling was overtaking me and I felt terrible. He's putting his trust into me and I'm lying, I know I shouldn't feel bad after everything he has done but the little sharp pain in my chest isn't making me feel great about what I have done.

"I hope you know I'm doing all this to keep you safe. I could care less about anyone else. Your mother she.." He takes a pause in his sentence, "She wanted you to live, when this first thing started she was ready to sacrifice herself so we could make it out. I talked her out of it, but you see what happened. I wasn't that good at persuading back then." He says as he turn the truck to the right.

"I miss her. I don't know how to explain this but.. I can hear her voice, but I also don't remember what she sounded like. It's like I just imagined what her voice would sound like and I ran with it." I shrug my shoulders. "The only reason I'm still alive was because I was hoping I would find her or you." I admit.

"She would be proud of you." He says. "She always knew you could overcome anything." He takes a break to laugh as he shakes his head, "It was always me worrying about you. I never let you do anything unless I was there. Too scared you'd get hurt. She was always trying to make me let you do stuff and I always fought against it."

"Is that why I was never allowed to go to sleepovers?" I ask as I laugh a little, the tension in the air slowly decreasing. He nods his head as he lips curl into a smile.

"Yeah. I couldn't let you go. Never wanted you to be too far from us." He says as he slowly pulls up the the front gates. "I guess I was a bit overprotective." He says as we drive through the gates a park.

"A little?" I ask with a small laugh following behind. He leans his hand over and softly punches me in the arm as he laughs along with me.

"Alright. A lot. It's a fathers love. What else can I say?" He questions as we both jump out of the truck. I walk over to the other side to stand next to him as we walk in. Immediately Dwight stops us both with a small smirk on his face.

"Yes Dwight?" Dad asks with an annoyed tone. Dwight coughs a few times to clear his throat before he points over to the right. A bunch of men was gathered around and one was laying on the floor.

"Woah woah woah! What do we have here?" Dad asks as he walks over. The men separate like the red sea as dad moves through them. The man continue to lie on the floor, and from my view he was coughing up blood. A lot of it.

"Well holy shit." Dad laughs as he shakes his head, "This is unbelievable! Sarah! Come over here and take a look at what the cat has drug in." I raise my eyebrow and slowly move towards the body on the floor, I move around dad and stare down. I get choked on my own air as I catch a glimpse of the man before me.

"Eugene?"
