Chapter 85

Avu left for mess. All the way, her eyes were searching for someone. She entered the mess and stood in line to receive dinner. She was waiting for her turn but she was least interested in food today. Her focus was completely somewhere else. Admist of all the chattering and noises of students' talks and laughs, utensils, running taps, she was completely lost. Earlier she was always a part of all this unlike today. She was looking here and there till someone patted her back. She looked back. It was some girl she didn't know.

Girl: Aage chalo na didi

She said pointing her finger forward. Avu looked in her direction and realized the students in front of her had moved ahead of her leaving a distance between them which she didn't come to know busy in her own world. She nodded looking towards the girl and moved forward catching up with the row. Her turn came and she took the plate, glass and spoon and put a small amount of daal and one chapati in her plate and filled her glass with water. She settled down on one of the chairs silently.

She tried eating but nothing was going down her throat. It was really  difficult to just imagine all the pain he had gone through. Her vision got blurred as tears formed in her eyes. She didn't realize her tears had rolled down her cheeks till a person kept a hand on her shoulder.

Sm1: Avni

He called out her name concerned.

She looked up and a sob escaped her lips seeing him.

Avu: Bhayia

A mere whisper escaped her mouth and she hugged him and started crying. Abhi got worried seeing her. He quickly kept down his plate and sat beside her. He let her cry on his shoulder and rubbed her arm and back. She cried wetting his shoulder completely. As she didn't stop crying, it made Abhi extremely worried.

Abhi: Avi bacha. Are you alright?

His voice was laced with tension but she didn't reply anything although her sobs had stopped but she kept hugging him and holding his shirt tightly in a fist not wanting him to leave. But Abhi made her leave but was still holding on to her shoulders.

Abhi: Avni look at me

But she didn't oblige. So he cupped her face and made him look at him.

Abhi: Avi what happened? Is it because of me? How I behaved with you today? I got angry. I am really sorry baby. I had no such intention. Trust me I never want to be angry from you. Scolding on you hurts me so much. I just want your good. Nothing else. But theek hai koi nhi. Aaj se I won't say anything. Jo karna hai karo but please aese matt karo

But she still didn't reply him.

Abhi: Gussa karlo. But chup nhi raho. You are toh my strong baby right? Achha is it because of me? Ya kisi ne kuch kaha hai? Mein dekh loonga jisne bhi kaha. But Avni you toh are never like this. Ki kisiki baat sunkar aa jaoo ya need someone else for revenge. But fir bhi koi nhi. Hota hai kbhi kbhi. Kisine kaha hai kuch to batao

Avu shooked her head.

Abhi: To mujhse gussa ho?

Avu: Nhi bhayia. I know you love me and are just concerned about me. Mein aapki baat ka kbhi bura kaise maan sakti hu. And you have full rights to be angry on me. You don't have to be sorry and promise not be. Whenever I do something wrong, you can definitely scold me

Abhi: Toh fir kya hua hai?

Avu sighed.

Avu: I wish I could share bhayia. But it is not my place to share. It is someone else's. So I can't tell you anything

Abhi: Sid ki baat kar rahi ho?

He asked after thinking a bit.

Avu: Bhayia actually wo...

But she couldn't say anything.

Abhi: Honestly I always knew he had some problem but he never told me and I thought I am none to ask. But I am glad he atleast shared with someone

Avu nodded.

Abhi: Khaana to khaalo atleast

Avu: Mann hi nhi hai

Abhi: Ek chapati to tu lekar aayi hai. Wo to finish karle atleast. Dekh patli si to hai. Mere lie. Please

Avu nodded. They had their dinner without exchanging any words. Abhi put the empty utensils in washing area while Avu was waiting for him outside holding her shawl close to her when her eyes caught someone.
