Just then Abhi saw Sid coming out mess.
Abhi: He is here
Avu looked in the direction he was looking.
Abhi: Jaoo
Avu: Huh?
Abhi: Go talk to him
Avu gulped and shooked her head.
Avu: He won't talk to me. Atleast not for now
Abhi: Mein saath chalu?
Avu sarcastically chuckled.
Avu: He has trust issues bhai. Aapko mere saath dekh kar usko lagega I told you everything. Usne inspite of his past, bohot effort krke, bohot trust karke, mere saath apna past, darkest fears, pain and wounds sab share kar dia. Ab chahe maine wo toda ya nhi, usko doubt bhi ho gya na chhota sa bhi uska trust firse toot jayega aur iss baar shayad hamesha ke lie. And I can't let that happen bhai. Wo shayad dobara kisi ke upar bharosa hi nhi kar paaye
Abhi thought for moment and understood her point. He nodded his head in agreement.
Abhi: I think you are right. To what do you exactly want now? Usko dekh lia wo theek hai. Now you can go then agar baat nhi karni usse koi
Avu nodded.
Avu: Mein usse baat nhi karoongi. But aap akele to kar hi sakte ho na. He is your friend. Aur bhayia wo sirf upar se theek hai. There is a broken soul behind this uptight young boy. I have seen that hidden vulnerable side of his today and it literally broke my heart bhayia. Aur maine to just observe kia door se wo bhi just aaj. He is in that mess from childhood. He needs help bhai. And I can't do anything alone. I need your help in this. Par mein aapko kuch nhi bata sakti. You gotta win his trust and listen his story from his own mouth. So that we can lend a hand to help him
Abhi nodded.
Abhi: Okk. I promise. Mujhse jo hoga mein karne ke lie tyaar hu. Agar meri efforts se kisi ki help ho sakti to mein zaroor karoonga
Avu smiled at him.
Avu: Thank you so much bhayia. You don't know how much your small efforts will mean to Sid
Abhi: Tu tension matt le. Mein Sid ko sambhal loonga. But tu please apni health aur studies par bhi focus kar. You know wo ignore nhi kar sakte
Avu: I know bhai. And I promise aaj se no matter what I won't ever compromise on them
Abhi: Great then. Mein aaj hi milta hu Sid se and will try to cheer him up. Uska thoda mood theek karte hai
They went for light walk for sometime and then bid bye and went to their hostels. Abhi went to Sid's room. He took a deep breath and knocked on Sid's door. He waited for a few seconds and the door was opened.
Abhi: Heyy. How are you buddy?
He tried to act normal and walked in without asking him and sat on bed. Sid sighed and shut the door behind.
Abhi: Kya ho gya? All fine na? Why so quiet?
He asked pulling Sid and making him sit beside her. Sid forced a smile.
Sid: I am good
Abhi: Okk. Kya chal raha aaj kal? I am so sorry mein tum logo ko aaj kal time nhi de pa raha tha. You know assignments and all. I was pretty busy thesd days
Sid: It's okk
Abhi: Hmm. Abhi busy the kya?
Sid: Nhi bass kuch khaas nhi
Abhi: Oh. Then let's go out. Thoda time spend karte hai ek saath
Sid: But....
Abhi: (cuts him) No. No ifs and buts. Chalo
He held Sid's arm and took him out. Abhi brought some soft drinks, snacks and his laptop from room. He handed a blanket and bedsheet to Sid.
Abhi: Chal chale. Waise bhi kal Saturday hi hai
Abhi walked ahead with Sid quietly following him with hands in his pockets. They went on terrace and Abhi spread the bedsheet and they sat under starry sky. Abhi put on a light hearted web series. Sid was not in mood to watch it even a bit but still sat down on Abhi's insistence. They sat down wrapped in the blamket. Both watched series till late night munching on snacks. Basically Abhi forcing him to eat.
Abhi was focused on screen when he felt some weight on his shoulder. He looked and Sid had slept with his head on his shoulder. He smiled at how innocent and childlike Sid looked while sleeping. Abhi mentally promised himself to protect this child from any danger. He quietly closed the laptop and removed Sid's specs carefully making sure he didn't wake up. He laid him down on bedsheet they were sitting on. Abhi laid beside him covering both of them with blanket. He made sure Sid was alright and sleeping peacefully one last time and drifted off to sleep.
