CHAPTER SEVENTEEN
#LASS_dinnerditch

Ethan and I had a date tonight. 

He's not home yet, dahil may inasikaso daw siyang importante ngayong araw and I didn't bother to ask him. Besides, even if I asked him he's not gonna tell me anyway. 

I wore white notched neck rib knit top with white trousers and some accessories.

I waited for him for a few minutes but hindi pa siya umuuwi. 

My phone beeped kaya napatingin ako doon. 

[From: Only Mine]
- head first, susunod lang ako.
- didiretso ako sa reaturant when I'm done with this. 

I was disappointed inside pero mas umibabaw ang ngiti ko. It's the first time that Ethan texted me first. Ako kasi parati ang nangunguna.

Sure. 

Hindi ko na dinala ang sasakyan ko dahil meron naman si Ethan mamaya. Sa kanya ako sasakay kaya I'll booked a grab nalang now. 

Pumasok na ako sa restaurant at naghihintay sa loob. 

7:00 pm dapat ang dinner but sabi ni Ethan 8:00 pm nalang daw because he really needs to do something important kaya so I agreed. Nagmamadali nga yong umalis kanina.

8:00 pm na pero wala pa siya. Baka male-late lang ng konti so I waited a bit more. 

Tumingin ako sa phone ko to check the time again. It's 8:36 pm na pero wala pa din siya. Siguro traffic kaya natagalan siya kaya okay lang.

Ibinaling ko ang tingin ko sa lugar. Some people around me are with their partners. Masaya silang kumakain habang nag kwekwentuhan. They look genuinely in love with each other. I envy them. 

Some of them are with their colleagues, friends and families samantalang ako ay nag iisa lang. Ang tagal naman kasi ni Ethan. 

I checked my phone again and it's 9:07 pm. I took a deep breath and texted Ethan.

[To: Only Mine]
- Hey where are you? 
- It's past eight na. 

After I texted him I put my phone down. Maya-maya ay may lumapit na waitress sa akin. 

“Ma'am, haven't you ordered yet?” she asked politely. 

“Ahmm… ” napatingin ako sa upuan ni Ethan “later” I said and she nodded. She seems to understand me.

- Pupunta ka pa ba dito?
- Did something happened? 
- Ethan? 

Hindi pa din siya nagrereply. It's already 10:14 pm at wala pa din siya. 

I texted him again. 

[To: Only Mine]
- Take your time
- I'll wait for you

I'll feel hopeless if he doesn't come. Ano ba kasing nangyari? Bakit ang tagal niya. Siguro may emergency talaga. 

I tapped my shoulder to assure myself na ok lang and don't feel hopeless dahil darating siya but the time has come.

- Ethan, I'm worried. 
- Is there something wrong? 
- If you're not going… please tell me.
- hey, reply naman oh

I looked at the time again and it's 11:02 pm. 

Tumingin ulit ako sa paligid. Konti nalang ang taong natitira but unlike me may kasama sila.
