Chapter 41

Arthit POV

I swing my legs back and forth humming a tune as I look out the window. I was excited! I was going to see my friends today! Mommy and daddy and promised that if I was really super good I would be able to see P'Ming, P'Forth and my favorite best friend P'Kong! I giggle at the thought of seeing P'Kong, he always does cool tricks.

"What are you giggling about back there?" My daddy asked me.

"Could it be about his P'Kong?" mommy says giggling too. Daddy laughs at her as I smile wide.

"P'Kongy says he has something super special to show me!" I yell excited. Mommy and daddy laugh.

"You should start preparing the dowry and the wedding." I turn looking at the woman sitting beside me in the backset, my mommy and daddy laughing more.

"Kerkkrai joked about that the last time we went to visit. I'm not surprised though, the bond they have." My mommy said. I looked at her confused.

"What's a dowry mommy?" I asked

"It's something given to the husband at the time of marriage. The wife family gives it."

"Am I the wife? I thought wives were girls like you mommy." All three grown ups laugh, making me more confused.

I whimper lightly as I wake up. I am in my wolf form, laying behind a tree. My chest hurts a lot. I look around but can't find my mommy and daddy. I look around and can't find my mommy or daddy. I whimper again sniffing around.

"Tell me where he is! Where is your boy?!" My ears picked up hearing the man yell.

"You will never find him!" that was my daddy voice. He sounded mad. I've never heard my daddy sound so mad before. If daddy is mad then I shouldn't move, I peek around the tree. My mommy and daddy are on their knees, a man in front of them. I don't like this. I can see our car; it was on fire. I didn't know cars could be on fire! I don't like this. I'm scared.

"You think I wont find him? I fucking will! He will die like the rest of you! Nobody is going to stand in my way of taken over!" The man yells. I watch as he gets into my daddy face.

"If you want to be the leader then take it! Just leave us alone! Leave our son alone!" My mommy begs.

"You think I am stupid? You know we have laws. You have to be fucking dead and so does your bloodline!" The man yells again. Does that man want to hurt my mommy and daddy? Why?

"You won't find our son. We hid him months ago!" My daddy said. I was confused. I wasn't hiding. We were not playing hide and seek. Are we suppose too? I'm really good at hide and seek! The best! Not even my P'Kong could find me. I almost stepped out when I see the mean man pull out what looks like a pen.

"You see this?" This is a switch. And all I have to do is press it. If I press it you will be dead in a matter of minutes. Eaten alive by the very people you swear to protect." That is gross. Why would anyone want to eat other people?

"You're fucking insane!" My daddy yells.

"Tell me where yoru son is and I will make sure all three of your death are painless as possible."

"go to fucking hell" My daddy spit at the scary man. Someone picks me up making me whimper and move around.

"Shh my little cub, I need to get you away from here okay? I need to protect you. I'm going to put this over your nose. I want you to close your eyes." I stared at the woman, doing as she says. She makes me feel safe like my mommy and daddy.
