Chapter 44

Kong POV

It's been an emotional three days. I was so damn worried when Arthit turned. It was his first turn and from what Tew told me they hurt like hell. He was also pregnant. They couldn't tell me how dangerous a first turn is while pregnant, because most turn when they are five or six. Thankfully both him and our baby came out of it okay. Our biggest question was 'Why now?' Why chose now for him to turn, for the spell to wear off like that? Did it have something to do with ? Desha, and my dad interrogated her for two hours, while Arthit slept, but she couldn't give them any information.

Flashback

Chantana sat on the couch, facing the rest of the room. My dad, and Desha stood close to the window. Lilly sat in a lone chair; legs crossed at the knee. Five of her most trusted people behind her. Our friends all sat around the dinner table, except for Knott and Tew. The moment we brought Tew back here they dashed into one of the guest rooms.

"Start from the very beginning. I want to know everything you remember." Desha said. Chantana took a deep breath, before starting

"We were on the way to visit High lord Suthiluck home. High alpha Niran had promised Arthit a playdate with Khun Kongpob. High alpha Niran and Luna Churai were joking around about Arthit being mates with Khun Kongpob." She took another deep breath closing her eyes. When she open them again her eyes were filled with tears. "It all happened so fast. I turned to look at Arthit when a bright light came towards us. Churai screamed for us to look out. I was able to use my magic to shield us from the impact, but it wasn't enough. Churai hit her head on the window, Niran hit his head on the steering wheel. Oon was still in his car seat, so thankfully he didn't get hurt. I hit my head hard on the window but was still able to get us all out of the car with magic." She rubbed the left side of her head gentle. "I couldn't focus and ended up separated all of us."

"Arthit always says he wakes up in his dreams. Did he pass out?" I ask

"Yes. The poor baby was so scared, he passed out. I managed to get him and myself behind a tree, while High alpha Niran and Luna Churai were just outside the car."

"why didn't you go to them? Why didn't you try and safe them?" Desha demanded. Chantana flinched bowing her head. I motion for Aim to bring her a bottle of water. This has to be hard on her.

"I wanted too. I swear I did. They were my family. I laid Oon down behind the tree and got up. I was dizzy but I was determine to get them behind the tree too. The car was already on fire. It was a small one, but I knew it could turn out to be dangerous." Aim sat a battle of water in front of her which she took gladly. After finishing half the bottle, she looked at Desha tears falling. "As I stepped around the tree, another vehicle pulled up. Five men stepped out, all wearing black. One of them had a face mask on."

"Can you tell us anything about the vehicle? Either of them? Like the make and model? Can you tell us anything about the man face?" Desha asked, his voice guff, as if he was trying not to cry.

"The vehicle that hit us, was a gas truck. I remember the shape. Every time I see one on the street, I freeze up and get scared." She shivered wrapping her arms around herself. "the vehicle that showed up afterwards. I can't say. I know it was a big black SUV, but that is all I can tell you. I was about thirty yards away from the crash site with Oon."

"If we have you sit down with a sketch artist can you tell them what the man looks like?" my dad ask.

"There will be no need. I can pull the memory out myself." Lilly said. This was the first time she has spoken since showing up.
