Before the chapter I just want to say thanks to all of you for your recent and hopefully ongoing patience. I recently got into the university of my dreams, and while my application process was thankfully much less stressful than Peter's in NWH, this summer has been a wild ride and I'm not going to be any less busy once term starts. I promise I will continue to write, but updates will probably remain sporadic until I get my life under control so please continue to bear with me.

That said, I will definitely be writing another Halloween special so if you have any requests for that I'm all ears! (No Agatha spoilers please, I haven't seen it yet!)

Please enjoy this chapter in which literally nothing happens in over 4000 words and I hope to see you all again as soon as I can!

Contrary to public knowledge, Spider-Man was on friendly terms with the Avengers. Yes, he worked outside of the Accords, yes, he had refused their offer to join the team, yes, he concealed his identity from them. But they still got along. Peter had a phone dedicated to the various group chats created with members of the hero team, and he occasionally found himself invited to movie or game or pizza nights.

So really, it was no surprise when one evening he got a text from Wanda inviting Spidey to share a Vietnamese takeout with them. 'Sam found a video on a YouTube binge last week and he's been saving it for the team to watch with you,' she'd written. 'Sounds fun, be there soon :P', Peter had replied. He made sure his apartment was locked then left through the window, making the short swing out of campus and across the city to the Avengers Tower.

When he got there the window was open and he climbed into the living area with a flourish. "Close the window, it's damn freezing," Bucky complained. Peter just laughed as the tower AI closed it behind him.

"Good to see you too, Buck."

"Get over here Spides, we've been waiting all week for this mysterious video."

Peter found himself with a carton of takeout and positioned in front of the widescreen TV among a pile of Avengers all crushed onto an assortment of seats. Clint and Natasha found ever more exotic ways to use a couch every time he saw them, and today was no exception. This time they were back to back on the top of the backrest, one leg flung across the rest of the back while the other hung over to sit on the cushions, either side of a bemused Bruce.

"So, Sam, what are we watching?"

"It had better be good," Wanda warned.

"Alright, give me a sec to set it up." He messed with his phone, sending instructions to Jarvis. A moment later YouTube appeared on the TV screen, a video already loaded.

Tony snorted. "Oh, this'll be good."

ConspiracyConneiseurs, was the name of the account. The title of the video was Spider-Man: Who is the masked hero of Queens?

There was laughter and somebody read the description: "Have you ever wondered about Spider-Man: who he is, what he is, and why he does what he does? Today we'll explore common conspiracy theories about Queens' web-slinging vigilante, and maybe uncover some secrets..."

Bucky made a spooky "oooo" noise, wiggling his fingers. Steve frowned.

"What if they really did find something? Should we watch this?"

Peter laughed. "If they knew my identity it would be all over the news by now. I've seen videos like this before, they're just fun speculation. My friend used to send me any he found."

"I, for one, cannot wait to find out who and what you are, Spidey," Tony joked, rubbing his hands together in mock villainy.

"I thought it would be way funnier to watch it with you here," Sam explained, "so you can confirm or deny the theories and we can all laugh at their stupid ideas."
