When I woke up, I wasn't sure if I was alive or just in some new layer of hell.
Metal walls. Black, cold, humming with electricity. A collar bit into my neck every time I tried to move. My head was pounding, and my body left like it had been dragged through fire.

The raft.
I didn't need to see the logo to know where I was.

The cell door swung open. Footsteps followed. Ross. Of course.

"Elizabeth." He greeted like we were old friends.
"How are you feeling?" He asks

"Oh, you know. The usual. Trapped. Collared.
Tortured. Nothing new." I leaned back, grinning,

His expression didn't change.
"Then let's skip the small talk" he started

"Please do" I cut in

"Where's steve?" he asked

I laughed, humorless.
"No idea" I said

"I know you know. You're just trying to protect them. Tell me where he is" He said

"Why would I tell you?" I asked

The slap came fast and sharp. My cheek stung, but I didn't flinch.

"Where is he?!" He demanded

"I. Don't. Know." I met his eyes, voice steady.

He stared for a long time before speaking again.
"Fine. Tell me, and you walk free. Refuse, and this cage drops into the ocean three times a day" he said

I tilted my head.
"Do it. I've survived worse" I said

His jaw twitched. Then he turned and left.

The floor lurched, and the world dropped. Freezing water surged around me, slamming into my ribs. I held my breath until my lungs screamed, until I couldn't tell which was louder- the water or my pulse. When the cage rose again, I gasped, shaking violently.

That became my life.
Days- or weeks, maybe. I stopped keeping count. The only constants were pain, cold, and silence.

Every now and then, I'd try reaching out with my powers, even through the collar, just to feel something. To see if Wanda was still there.
She was- until she wasn't.
After that, it was just emptiness.

When I finally felt a familiar energy above me- Tony's- I almost didn't believe it.

So I did the only thing I could.
I spoke into his head.
"Look at the cameras. Watch what you thought was best for me" I said

The cage dropped again. I caught one last breath, lungs burning, body trembling. But this time, I didn't make it to the surface before darkness pulled me under.

"Elizabeth"
That voice- soft, warm- alex.

"You can't die yet, Lizzie. You still have so much to do. I love you" he said gently
