"I'm driving" I said, already reaching for the keys.
Tony raised a brow. "Do you even know how to drive?" He asked.
"Yes, Tony. I do" I said, rolling my eyes.
"Fine." He smirked, leaning against the car. "But on one condition" he said
"What?" I ask
"Drive fast" he said
I laughed, shaking my head. "Such a bad influence. But... that was my plan already" I said.
I jumped in the car and started the engine.
The ride to the compound felt like old times- music blasting, wind rushing, Tony occasionally making sarcastic comments that made me roll my eyes and laugh anyway.
When we pulled up, I spotted Steve waiting outside. I passed him slightly, then threw the car in reverse until I was perfectly even with him. I rolled down the window, both Tony and I wearing sunglasses like we owned the place.
"Why the long face?" Tony asked.
"Let me guess- he turned into a baby" I added
Steve sighed. "Among other things, yeah. What are you doing here?" He said
"It's the erp paradox" tony started as he and I got out of the car.
"Instead of pushing lang through time you might have wound up pushing time through lang."I finished for him.
Tony nodded "It's tricky, dangerous. Somebody could have cautioned you against it" he said
"You did" Steve said.
"Oh, did I?" Tony said innocently.
He grinned. "Well, thank God, I'm here. Regardless, I fixed it" he said
"Excuse me?" I scoffed.
"Sorry- We fixed it" he corrected
"Better" I said, crossing my arms.
Tony held up his hand, revealing a device. "A fully functioning time space gps" he said
"I just want peace" tony said, flashing the peace sign. "Turns out resentment is corrosive and I hate it" he said
"Me too" Steve said quietly.
"I third that" I added.
Tony's tone softened. "We got a shoot at getting the stones but I gotta tell ya my priorities. Bring back what we lost, I hope yes. Keep what I found, I have too at all costs. And maybe. Not die trying would be nice" he said
"Sounds like a deal" Steve said, shaking his hand.
Tony smiled faintly, then walked to the back of his car and opened the trunk. He lifted out Steve's shield, brushing off a few of Morgan's toys.
