I barely slept that night

I barely slept that night. Maybe three hours at most. Every time I closed my eyes, something deep in my chest told me something bad was coming. The feeling wouldn't go away- heavy, sharp, sitting in the back of my mind like a warning I couldn't decipher.

MJ groaned from her bed, sitting up and holding her head.
"Ugh, my head is killing me" she mumbled

"You okay?" I asked, still half-distracted.

"Yeah. When did I even go to bed? I can't remember" she said, squinting.

"Uh- I don't know. We went to bed at the same time" I said pretending like I didn't know exactly why she couldn't remember.

She just gave me a thumbs up and flopped back onto her bed.

A few hours later, MJ and I met up with the group, bags in hand.

"Good news!" Mr. Harrington said, way too cheerful for eight in the morning.
"We're going to Prague." He said

"Damn you, fury" I mutter under my breath.

"What?" Everyone asked.

"Prague?" Peter asked, eyes darting to me.

"You should've heard me on the phone with them. I really gave them hell." Mr. Harrington said

"All I heard was crying." Mr. Dell said

We stepped outside to see a massive tour bus waiting for us, the driver holding a sign.

"Look at our upgraded ride" Mr. Harrington said, eyes wide.

"I'm impressed Mr. Harrington." Mr. Dell said

"Peter, what's going on?" Ned whispered to him.

"I think Nick Fury just hijacked our summer vacation" peter whispered back.

Mr. Harrington tried introducing himself to the driver, who just stared ahead.

"Awesome" Ned said

"Yeah, awesome" Peter muttered.

I sat alone on the bus, reading while everyone chatted around me. That peace didn't last long.

"Hey, girl" Hailey said, sliding into the seat beside me.

"Oh, hey" i said, giving her a polite smile.

"I haven't gotten the chance to talk you. Thought now was a good time" she said brightly.

"Sure" I said

For the next hour, she talked nonstop- mostly about random things that made little sense. At one point, she started showing me pictures of her rabbit.

"His name is sugar, he's adorable isn't he?" She said, holding out her phone.

"He is. How long have you had him?" I askEd

"My family's had him for years. He loves the stage too. He played baby Jesus in the school's play once." She said
