I stepped onto the field behind Nagi, looking up at the overhead lights before focusing ahead. Rin and Shido were across the way, watching us approach.
"Finally!" Shido exclaimed, grinning at me. "You're going down, Kei-chan!" He took a few steps towards me. "I'm going to smoke you! And then I'm going to devour you!"
"Please keep your thoughts to yourself," I told him blankly. "And whatever this weird trash talk is...."
"Did you see my awesome no look goal?" he asked me, much like a child would ask a parent. "Did you see it? It was so cool!"
"I saw it," I quietly answered. "But it didn't impress me, if that's what you you're looking for." Rin snorted in amusement while Shido's grin fell. "I already you knew you could do that. I told you yesterday that I already know what you're capable of."
Shido frowned. "Just keep watching me. It will happen."
I looked to Nagi and said, "I think I'll keep my eyes on my own teammate, but thanks." Then I turned to Rin. "Good luck, Rin-chan. May the luckiest opponent win."
Rin gave me a look. "I told you that I don't need luck. The opponent who will win will be me because I am better than you. Luck will have nothing to do with it. Not today."
I smirked. "Okay. If you say so, Rin Rin."
He didn't like that and glared at me, raising his chin.
Finally the other teammates arrived. Team A's players came out first. Aryu was leading the way. Behind him was a guy that looked like a tired version of Barou, and Igaguri. Igaguri.... ugh.
Nagi and exchanged a look. Aryu gave them height advantage. Aryu would likely play at the goal where he could defend our passes and high shots. We both knew this and nodded to each other before turning to see who our own team was.
Luckily, there were familiar faces.
"Gagamaru!" I exclaimed happily, waving excitedly at my old teammate that came to stand next to me. "Good to see you!"
"Hello again, Iteya-chan," he replied with a nod. "I'm happy to be on a team with you again." He looked at the other team. "Oh and Igaguri is here too."
An angry guy with a thick hair and a mustache came to stand on Nagi's side and behind that guy was....
"Reo!" Nagi and I both said at the same time. Nagi's statement was in shock while my exclamation was happy.
Reo looked between the two of us and nodded once.
I gave him a thumbs up. "Just who I was hoping for, Reo. It's time to make some plays."
I grinned as I faced forwards again, Team A lined up in front of us. We actually have a strong chance here. Reo was a God-send.
It was time for kickoff and Nagi and I turned to our team.
