"It's been so long!" Bachira smiled at me, ignoring my question. He stepped forward and pulled me into a hug before I could protest. "I missed you, Keiko-chan!"
My eyes widened as I was held in his embrace, still shocked at what was happening. "B-Bachira..."
He'd gotten maybe a little taller since I last saw him in person, but other than that he seemed almost the same. Bachira grinned at me as he pulled away, yellow eyes happily locking on me. "Come inside!"
"Uh..." I pointed past him, uncomfortable with not knowing what was going on. "But, this is my house! Why are you here?"
"Is that Keiko?" a new voice sounded and a tall blonde with wavy locks came around the corner. He grinned widely at me. "Oh it is! Just in time as well!" He quickly walked forwards and pulled me into a hug too. "It is good to see you again! I'm so glad you are here. Come inside!"
"Akira..." I pressed my lips together, giving him a light hug before pulling back. "Good to see you too..." My gaze cast down as the two stepped aside and I entered my own home. "Thank for inviting me into my own house..."
"Trust me, I'm just thankful you showed up!" Akira told me with a smile as he shut the door and Bachira came to stand at my side. "We just finished making dinner and should be eating in the next few minutes! How was your flight? I hope you aren't too tired."
"I'm fine..." I nervously clasped my hands together in front of me, shooting a weary look at Bachira and then Akira.
I opened my mouth to say something else, but I cut off as another person came around corner. Eyes identical to mine landed on my face and my brother came to a stop, staring at me with slightly widened eyes from hall entrance. We blinked at each other as I turned to look at him. So many thoughts and feelings, mostly anger, came rushing at me, but before I could react I saw something rare.
"Keiko," Hikaru murmured, smiling slightly, like he was glad to see me. "Welcome home."
I stiffened and my face paled. Did he just fucking smile at me????
"There she is!" my father's voice chuckled and he passed by Hikaru, walking right up to me. "Oh! Kei-chan! I've missed you so much."
"Dad," I greeted and met him in the middle to embrace him. I rested my chin on his shoulder as he squeezed me tightly, my eyes once again locking on my brother. I narrowed them and Hikaru frowned slightly.
"How was the flight?" my father asked, pulling away and giving my arm a pinch. "Those international flights can be so exhausting, right?"
"Right," I mumbled with a nod, putting my hands in my pockets awkwardly.
"I'm sure they already told you, but dinner is being finished up right now in the kitchen," he told me with a warm smile. "We're having yakitori! I figured having a familiar dish that reminds you of home would be something you missed after being in Spain for so long."
