Since the Tryouts were finished, Nagi and I were kicked out of the VIP rooms and had to return to the main dorm areas where the rest of the Blue Lock players were staying. I wasn't looking forward to it, because it was just group areas now. It was an open space for everyone which meant that I would be surrounded by a bunch of guys all the time.
So I nervously showered in the bathroom and changed into my loungewear before everyone realized that the Top Six were back. Then I ventured into the cafeteria area by myself. Almost everyone was inside eating lunch and most of them looked up at me when they noticed I was in the room. I kept my eyes fixed on the buffet along the wall, picking up a tray and beginning to decide what I wanted to eat. With so many options, I chose a soup and sandwich like combination and grabbed a cup of water before turning to find a place to sit.
As I walked, I noticed that Rin was already back from medical with a big bandage across his the top of his nose. I stopped by the table he was sitting at and looked down at him. "Hey, Rin. How is your nose?"
He looked up at me quickly, not having realized I was there or probably in the room at all due to his focus on his bowl of food, before turning his eyes back down. "I'm fine."
"That's good to hear," I said with a nod. "I'm glad that it's not broken." I looked at the empty seat next to him, contemplating if I should sit with him.
"Yeah..." Rin muttered before saying, "Where'd the Antenna Freak go?"
"Shido? Ego said he was going to the Punishment Room. Whatever that is," I said with a sigh and shrugged. "If our suits have electric shock functions, I'm scared to know what else Ego is hiding deep within Blue Lock." Rin made a small noise of agreement, looking up from his bowl at me. "Anyway, I hope you feel better. See you later." I continued walking to find a seat, deciding that Rin probably wanted to be alone and would not appreciate me bothering him. So I spotted another familiar face close by, calmly eating some rice. "Isagi-kun!"
He looked up from my happy greeting in slight surprise as I sat down in the seat in front of him at the table. "Iteya-chan... How are you?"
I gave him a tired smile. "I need a long nap, which is what I am planning to do after this." I began to slowly eat my soup. "How are you? You nervous for the selection?"
He blinked and then gave me a sheepish smile. "Is it obvious?"
"Nope, haha. I just took a guess," I told him with a chuckle.
Isagi rubbed the back of his neck and murmured, "Sometimes I think you know me better than I know myself." Then he looked back up at me slowly. "What do you think? Do you think I have a chance of being chosen?"
I smirked. "Does it make a difference what I think? You shouldn't have to ask at this point. You know I believe in you, Isagi." His face tinted slightly at my words and I continued, "Believe in yourself, would you? But... yeah you'll make it. I'm sure. You scored a goal, didn't you?" I took a bite of my sandwich.
