I had been at Blue Lock for about a week now. Slowly I was getting used to the hard work and training that came with each day. I was also beginning to feel comfortable around the guys, trying to not be as serious like Isagi suggested. I think that it was slowly working.
"Hey Kunigami!" I greeted, walking into the weight room. It was just the two of us in here, the rest still getting dressed and struggling to wake up.
The orange haired boy looked up at me from where he was doing shirtless one handed push ups. "Morning Iteya-chan."
I watched him continue his push ups, sweat already dripping down his brow. It was no secret that Kunigami had a very ripped and nice body. He reminded me of a body builder. And it was hard not to stare. I looked away from where I was watching the sweat fall down his back and I kneeled in front of him.
"Hey Kuni-kun?"
"Uh!" He looked up in sudden shock from the nickname. "Y-Yes?"
"How many push ups can you do?" I asked, tilting my head and causing my ponytail to swoosh.
"Oh. I don't really just keep count," he told me as he lowered down and then rose back up. "I just go until I get tired."
"Well, if you had to guess, then how many would you say that you can do? Or how many do you think you usually do?"
He thought for a minute, sweat dripping from his chin and onto the mat. "Maybe 200 with each hand."
I grimaced and then sighed before getting into a push up position directly in front of him so we were face to face. "Okay then....." I put one hand behind my back and slowly, mostly painfully, lowered myself down and shakily rose back up. "O-One...."
Kunigami stopped his pushups to look up at me, seeing my pained expression. He chuckled lightly. "What are you doing?"
"I'm trying to do pushups like you. I'm going to do 50. That way I'll be 1/4th your strength. That's how muscle works right?" I joked before lowering my body again. My right arm that was supporting my weight was shaking drastically. "T-two......"
"If you are using that logic then you'd only be 1/8th as strong since I do 200 on each hand," he pointed out and I frowned as I lowered for my third one.
"You know, Kuni-kun," I said through a strained body as I shakily rose back up. "Being a know-it-all is not very attractive!"
Kunigami let out a deep chuckle. "You're right. I'll just let you have your moment."
I collapsed at that second, my arms giving away beneath me. My body literally face planted and I groaned into the floor. "Push ups are over rated. Soccer is more about leg strength anyways." I turned my face to the side so my cheek was resting on the floor, looking up at him. "You make it look so easy."
"Well I'm up for a challenge if you have something in mind," Kunigami told me.
I sat up and grinned. "Okay. I have an idea!" Getting to my feet, I grabbed two ten pound dumbbells off the weight stand and returned to where he was still, frustratingly, doing one handed push ups. "I call this the ultimate pushup. If you can do this with one arm, then I will be very impressed. Stay down for a second."
