After a basic skill assessment warm up that involved a movement and fitness test, Loki dismissed us and we were handed room assignments. Much like the Second Selection, we would be sharing small rooms with teammates. I retrieved my duffel bag and walked down the French wing, searching for the room number. When I found it, the door slid open to reveal a small room with four large beds, small bookshelves for storage, and tablets.
Unluckily for me, two people were already inside.
"No, no, no, no!" I groaned out, pointing at Karasu and Shido in annoyance. "This is like my worst nightmare. Why'd I get assigned to room with you two?"
"The universe wants us together, Takoyaki-chan," Shido told me, wiggling his eyebrows at me. "It's destiny."
"It's bullshit." I crossed my arms.
Karasu snickered. "Surely Loki assigned us all in a room together for a reason, right?"
I sighed and a voice said from behind me, "You're blocking the door." Rin lightly pushed past, carrying his stuff inside and then also stopped in front of me when he noticed who I was talking to. He made an annoyed noise. "Figures."
"This is perfect!" Shido was chuckling like he had won the lottery, leaning against the wall with a wide grin. "Must be my lucky day!"
I shook my head. This is going to be a nightmare, isn't it?
I threw my bag onto the closest empty bed. "Let's set some ground rules. Stay out of my stuff, Ryusei. You too, Wonder Boy." I took out my ear piece and set it down.
Karasu held up his hands. "Why would I do that? Also, you aren't gonna say that to Rin too?"
"Rin-chan has better things to do than go through my things," I retorted and gave the sneaky blue eyed boy a look. "Plus he's not a pervert like you, Karasu."
Rin just ignored us as he began to neatly unpack his things on his assigned shelf next to mine as Karasu let out a small protest. "I am not a pervert! I promise I won't go through your belongings."
"Good." I nodded and unzipped my bag. "Better not or I'll kick your ass."
"So how did you end up on the French team anyways?" Karasu wondered. "I heard you tell the others you chose to join Italy."
"I did choose Italy..." I frowned angrily. "Snaffi kicked me out as soon as Hologram Ego finished his speech."
"Really? What did you do?" Shido chuckled. "Did you piss him off?"
"I didn't do anything," I told him with a sigh. "He wouldn't tell me why, but he just kept saying that there wasn't a place for me on the team. But whatever. If he doesn't want me there then I don't need to be there. I'll prove him wrong here."
