FLASHBACK: 3 MONTHS AFTER ITEYA KEIKO LEAVES BLUE LOCK
I nervously stood in front of the door, lowering my hand from where I had knocked moments before. Waiting was torturous as I heard footsteps walking through the house. I held my breath as the door opened, only to feel dismay when Rin's mother came into my sight.
"Keiko-chan!" she exclaimed with a wide grin. "What a surprise! I'm so glad to see you!"
"Hi, Itoshi-san," I quietly said with a forced smile. "It's good to see you too." I got straight to the point. "Is Rin here? I know that he's on break right now and I really need to speak with him."
"He should be up in his room," his mother told me, stepping back to allow me inside. "Go ahead and go up! Stay as long as you like!"
"Thanks," I murmured before slipping off my shoes and entering the home. Slowly, I climbed up the stairs to see his bedroom door was closed.
It had come to this. Three months of nothing but silence was more than I could put up with. I wanted to hear his explanation. On paper, I had returned to Japan to get the last of my things and to finish my work-visa paperwork for living in Spain. But I was actually here to see him. To speak to him. To get answers. To, hopefully, end back up in his arms after so long.
There are no excuses. He's on a small break from Blue Lock. I'm here at his house. He can't avoid me now.
After hesitating, I moved up to the door and knocked. "Rin? It's me, Keiko.... Your mother let me inside." I could hear a soft sound coming from underneath the door, possibly from the TV. "I know you're in there. Can you let me in so we can talk? Please?" I waited for a moment, only to be met with no response. My eyes narrowed and I tried to force the door open but it was locked. "Rin!" I let out a frustrated cry. "Rin! This isn't fair! You've been ghosting me ever since I stepped foot out of Blue Lock! I tried to talk to you about why I had to leave. I can see when you read my texts but you haven't responded to a single one of them! I call you but you ignore them and don't call back!" I gritted my teeth. "Why won't you talk to me? Are you upset?" Tears began to gather in my eyes. "What happened? Please Rin! Please! I just want to talk to you!" Again, I was met with no response and a big tear rolled down my cheek. "I came all this way to talk with you! Say something! Anything! You can even yell at me if you want! Just please, Rin!" After a few moments I shook my head and said with a shaky breath, "F-Fine. If you don't want to talk to me right now, then I'll be at my mother's memorial around eleven in the morning tomorrow waiting for you. Please come and we can talk. Please...." I forced myself to say it. "Please show up. Please."
