"Iteya-chan!" a voice called out as I was walking down the hall towards medical, followed by the sound of bare feet hitting the ground.
I stopped and turned. "Isagi? What are you doing? I told Sunshine-kun that I didn't need help. I don't need yours either. My leg isn't the part of my body that is hurt."
"I know but I... uh..." Isagi made a wry face. "Whenever you venture off alone, the best things don't always happen to you."
I sighed and kept walking down the hall. "Well I can't stop you from following me, I suppose." I did smirk at his attempt to help me, but I didn't let him see.
Isagi smiled and jogged forward until he was walking along side me. "Does it hurt a lot?"
"Yes, but it's not the worse pain I've felt," I answered honestly, my eyebrows furrowing slightly.
He blinked at me before saying, "I'm sorry."
"Please stop apologizing because you are making me feel like a jerk."
"Sorr- I mean.... Okay." We walked in silence for a moment before he spoke again. "You and Rin seem to understand each other very well."
"That's because we do," I told him, staring forward as we moved along.
"But it's more than just a four day connection, I mean. You said that you two were friends? That you knew him outside of Blue Lock?" Isagi looked to me for an answer.
"Well.... until a few days ago I had not seen Rin in years...." I murmured and finally met Isagi's blue gaze. "But he and his brother were my childhood friends. Hikaru and I grew up with them. They were on Hikaru's team and I.... I was just kind of always around. Yet, they accepted me and spent time with me anyways. Rin was the first friend that I really connected to more than anyone else. He was my best friend in the world."
Isagi let out a noise of disbelief. "Seriously? That guy? But you are nothing alike! How did you even befriend someone like that in the first place?"
I smiled to myself thoughtfully, looking ahead. "Believe it or not, but Rin used to be different, Isagi-kun. He was genuine, caring, always was nice to me, and made me smile. Sure, he's always been stand offish and a little blunt. But the person he is now is very different. Rin was the one person I trusted more than anyone. We spent so much time together that when I moved away...." I paused and blinked a few times, the smile fading. "It was like I had lost a piece of myself...."
Isagi studied my face. "So what happened? Why is he so.... cold?"
I tilted my head. "I don't know. He won't tell me." I looked over at Isagi. "But one thing I do know is that he really loved his brother Sae. That fact that he wants to destroy him tells me that he got hurt somehow." I frowned. "Sae was never easy to understand. But they were close." I suddenly stopped walking and turned to face Isagi. "Isagi-kun, after he plays, Rin goes to stretch in one of the small gyms. You should go talk to him."
