In the passed time since I had seen Kaiser, his face had matured slightly, but he still had that youthful and charming aura about him. The owner of blonde hair and a blue rose tattoo stood in front of me with an almost mocking grin as he wore an expensive looking suit piece.
"Hello, golden Keiko," he greeted, hands in his pockets. "It's been too long, don't you think?"
"You want to know what I think?" I said slowly, turning around to fully face him. I raised an eyebrow. "I think that you have some nerve talking to me, Kaiser."
Kaiser chuckled softly. "I see you haven't lost that fiery attitude, which I admire so much about you, by the way."
I let out a haughty breath. "For someone so good at eavesdropping, you don't really seem to listen very well."
"Oh, I heard you just fine," he told me with a smirk before looking to Sae, who was giving Kaiser a light glare. "Nice to see you again, Sae Itoshi. You seem to be doing well." Sae said nothing to him and just continued to glare. "What a lovely couple you two make. Very evenly matched in disdain for me, it seems."
"We aren't a couple," I told Kaiser firmly. "Now, if you don't mind, please go back to wherever you came from and leave us alone."
"But what's the fun in that?" Kaiser asked with another small laugh. "This is much more entertaining."
"Don't you have a date or someone else to bother?" Sae grumbled out, finally saying something.
"I didn't bring a date. I brought Ness with me to this function," Kaiser replied, meeting Sae's gaze confidently. "I wouldn't bring just anyone to someplace like this. I have standards."
"Surprise surprise," I mumbled, cutting my eyes at the blonde. "You probably couldn't score at date so you brought your little minion. Not that I blame anyone who turns you down... You'd be exhausting to deal with."
"Hm... Didn't you date Ryusei Shido? And then Rin Itoshi?" Kaiser tilted his head at me. "Talk about exhausting... Ha, if what you say is true, then maybe you should just date me next, to keep your record going."
"I'd literally date anyone else before you," I icily told him.
"Enough..." Sae let out a sharp sigh and gave Kaiser a look. "Are you done?"
"Of course, I'm not done. I came here over here to reconnect with my former Blue Lock adversary!" Kaiser suddenly said with a large grin and then reached down and grabbed my right hand.
I instantly wanted to rip it away and then slap him. But then I stiffened when I saw a flash go off on my right. A camera. I looked to the side and saw an event photographer taking our picture. Shit... Kaiser's a sneaky bastard.
"I'm so glad you're doing so well in your career, Keiko," Kaiser said in a velvety voice as he lifted my hand to his lips. "It's really great to see you again."
