I searched desperately for my makeup, throwing things out of my bags and rummaging through all of my belongings. It was no where to be seen. "No no no no!" With a grunt, I pulled my hair out of my ponytail. I guess I was wearing it down today because I was running out of time. Someone seeing it was a risk I was going to have to take.
Quickly I changed into my X-Gen uniform and jogged down the hall to get to the field. Everyone was already there so I suppose I made it just in time.
"Where have you been?" Charles asked with a small chuckle, being the first to acknowledge my presence as I trotted up to where most of the players were gathering near the midline. "I know we teased you for being late last time but-"
"Sorry!" I said, catching my breath as I came to a stop. "I couldn't find something I was looking for!"
"Cutting it close there, Iteya-chan," Reo's voice sounded and I looked to the right to see him approach with a smirk. "Did you get scared or something?"
"Reo-kun," I greeted with a small smile. "What's there to be scared of?"
He let out an amused chuckle but it was Chigiri who replied, "We will see if you still think that way after the match, Keiko-chan."
"Hey Chigiri-kun!" I grinned. "It's good to see you!" I put my hands on my hips. "I'm looking at two in the trio. Where's your third? Where's Na-"
"High Flyer," a deep tone mumbled behind me. A strong set of arms wrapped around me from behind, pinning my arms to my side as Nagi basically bear hugged me. He set his chin on the top of my head. "It's been so long since we talked in person..."
"Uh! Hey Nagi!" I exclaimed, wincing slightly at how tightly he was holding me. Geez, his muscles must have gotten bigger. "G-Good to see you too!" I tried to lightly pull out of his grasp. "Um, can you let me go? You're squeezing a little too hard..."
"Oh, sorry." His grip loosened and I stepped out of his arms and turned to face him. "I was just excited for today..."
I awkwardly smiled at him. "I'm happy to see you too. You were excited, though, you said? Why?"
"The new Nagi Seishiro actually looks forward to things now, including soccer," Reo explained, stepping up to stand next to me.
"Oh wow..." My eyes widened a little. "That's... good, right?"
"Well, it is for us," Chigiri chuckled smugly. "It's bad for you."
"Ugh. Don't waste your time. All of you save your breath and let's just get this over with," Shido grumbled from nearby, walking past where we were standing.
Reo raised an eyebrow as I stared at the back of Shido's jersey with a pressed expression. "What's his problem? Isn't he usually all ready to "explode" and back talk?"
