Memories of Moon yelling for me as I hid in the jungle gym came back to me. I was only 10 at the time. It was when I tried to install the device. I really fucked up.
I raced into the jungle gym, trying to find some place to hide. There a tunnel tube and I crawled inside. It was closed off at the tunnel which meant that there was only one way out and if Moon crawled through, I'd really be fucked.
This gave me a minute to calm down and figure out what the hell was going on. A sharp pain shot through my arm as a reminder that I was still actively bleeding.
Using my jacket, I struggled but managed to wrap it around my arm. It was honestly better than nothing at all.
Then I heard him. I could hear the clunk every time Moon took another step in the jungle gym. He called out to me and a shiver ran down my spine. "...starlight... come out... naughty starlight..."
I had no idea how much time I had before Moon found me. I couldn't leave this spot anymore or else he would definitely hear.
There was a purple light that I could barely see at the entrance of the tunnel. It was getting brighter and brighter. I watched as Moon started to crawl past the tunnel I was in.
He stopped right in front of the tunnel. "...starlight, I'm not mad... come out..." I wanted to believe him but the sinister tone was too evident.
"...how about this, starlight...? If you show yourself, I promise to go easy on you..."
I didn't make a move.
I didn't even breathe.
Moon sighed, "...naughty starlight..." He reached into the tunnel and grabbed onto my leg. I tried to get free but the more I struggled, the more his claws were tearing into my leg.
He pulled me out of the tunnel. I stared frozen at his face. Pure terror was written on my face. Moon tightened his grip, "Starlight..."
"...Moony..." I whispered to him. His eyes faded back to red. He loosened his grip until he let go.
Out of nowhere, the lights turned on.
