ROOOOOOOOAR!
The roar was so loud, Percy, Annabeth and Clarisse had to clap their ears over their heads. The ceiling made dust fall, and the large stones fell behind them. Locking them into the weird room. It was pitch black, the only light was a small golden thread laying on the ground.
"I guess we follow this string," Annabeth said.
"No way!" Clarisse said. "I'm staying here! And not following some weird string into the darkness!"
"They stay here, and die," Percy said, yanking the spear away from Clarisse. "It's either wait here and slowly stare to death or follow the string. And I'd rather follow the string. So, Annabeth let's go." Percy started walking.
"Percy we can't just leave her," Annabeth said.
"She's a grown ass woman, if she want's to stay here and die, then so be it. I'm sick of her constant whining and complaining," Percy growled. Annabeth gasped at the vicious look in his face. "Come on Annabeth."
"Come on Clarisse," Annabeth said to Clarisse who just stood their with a blank look on her face. Percy, tired of this, grabbed Annabeth's hand and started leading her down the hallway. "Clarisse!" Annabeth yelled. Percy and her turned the corner where she yanked her arm free from his grip. "How could—"
Percy kissed her, and pushed her back against the hallway way. His lips parted from hers, "Wait for it." he murmured. His hot breath making her head slip into a daze. Then after a few seconds, big loud feet were thunking down the hall and Clarisse burst around the corner. "See." He kissed Annabeth deeply again, then turned and started walking down the hall. Annabeth's knees feeling like static, almost fell over.
"I can't believe you," Clarisse said. "Ditching me and then making out with your boyfriend seconds later..."
Percy picked up the golden thread, and they followed it deeper into the dark room. Taking many turns, Percy started to think it felt like some sort of maze. Then the string ended, a body of a skeleton with a ball of the golden yarn tucked into his hand. A bronze sword that gleamed in the darkness. Percy tossed the spear back to Clarisse, and picked up the sword. "Anaklusmos," Percy read the description engraved along the blade.
"Riptide," Annabeth said. "What's that in that guys hand?" Annabeth pointed to the ball of yarn.
"Yarn," Percy said. "looks like he didn't make it to the end."
"Great!" Clarisse shouted. "The yarn lead us to a dead end, literally! Lead us straight to the owner who died alone!"
Percy looked over the skeleton body, it's head looked completely smashed in. The skull smushed and pushed through into his chest cavity. "No... he didn't die alone, he was killed." Percy picked up the yarn and looked down the dark hallway. He continued walking, with the girls following behind. This corridor was different, it was long and straight. The yarn spinning loose behind him as he walked ended and fell to the floor. The hallway ended into steps, they walked down the steps and suddenly blue flame braziers lit up one by one. About 12 of them, in a curve lit the room up completely. It kinda looked like an arena. A large gate at the other end of the arena shuttered, then started to clink as it started to raise up.
"Uh Percy!" Annabeth shouted.
"Get ready for a fight!" Percy said, swinging his knew sword by his side.
The gate slowly clinked higher and higher, then boomed to a stop. A dark hall behind it echoed with something inside. ROOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAR! They clasped their ears again, the roar 20 times louder now.
The ground started to shake once the roar ended, then bursting out from the darkness was a 10 foot tall half man half bull. Big furry head with blood soaked pointy horns, evilly red eyes and a snout with a golden ring pierced between it's two snorting nostrils charged at them.
"Minotaur!" Clarisse shrieked. They all rolled to the side, the minotaur bounding past them. "What the hell! He's real!?" Clarisse said getting to her feet.
The Minotaur roared loudly again, turned around and stamped it's large hoof in the sand. It's eyes locked onto Percy, with a loud snort, the minotaur charged again. Percy slashed as he flung himself to the side. The minotaur's thigh, thick blood spurted from the gash. The minotaur roared in pain and anger, he turned to Percy and charged again. As Percy tried to doge to the side, the bull spread it's arms out catching him by the waist with the bulls huge hand. It lifted Percy up, and Percy slashed at it's hand severing it. Percy fell onto the bulls head as it writhed in pain. He grabbed onto the horns of the beast, his sword falling from his hand and clanging to the ground. The bull snorted, and charged at nothing, slamming into the wall. With a crack, Percy broke the horn off of the bull, as he fell. The impact rattling Percy's teeth. The bull bellowed in anger, stamped it's feet, and charged at Percy. He rolled to the side, and lunged the tip of the horn into the bulls ribs. The bull roared in pain, then fell to it's knees. Swiped at the horn firmly planted in it's ribs by Percy, before falling snout first into the sand, dead.
