Nobody learned why the farms were rivals. All the farmers knew was that they sat across the road from one another and hated each other's guts. They both planted the same produce. Fruits. Vegetables. The occasional grain. But that wasn't the source of their hatred. It was something instinctual that went from the owners all the way down to the laborers in the fields. They stared at each other from across the way, ready to attack at any moment. Then the day came when they unleashed hell in a volley of ammunition. It was a food fight for the ages.
