En remembered that day at the restaurant. Although I was wearing a mask, there was one time where it felt itchy underneath it. Just one moment I took it off and En was there to see it. His expression was clear; he was surprised and intrigued to see a human in the world of sorcerers. Above all, I wasn't even used for magic, looking unharmed. A young human being like me was a perfect being to experiment on, according to sorcerers. The ones that told him to check it out were none other than Shin and Noi. They had spotted me the last time I tried to help that devil in my room. En took his time to pay the restaurant a visit, almost a year past since then. He didn't see it as a big deal at first, until his interest got the better of him. The other two are known to be the cleaners of the En family that take care for anyone that messes with the family, have come over on a regular basis.

The minute En has entered the restaurant, heads have turned. He was well known in this world and was treated with high respect. Even so, if someone is coming in like that, all humans had to hide as far as possible. Because of my punishment, they forgot to tell me about it, while I was outside trying to get the trash into the large buckets. Whatever that was inside the bag, a little hole had releases something that fell onto my mask. Through a few openings, since it was self-made and badly stitched up, my face began to itch. Back in the kitchen, I took it off and hit it several times to get everything out. Not aware of the customer at the counter, staring in disbelieve at me. Pulling the mask back on, the owner came back, froze on the spot. En gave the owner a look that could kill, while he pulled me along, out of sight. Anyhow, it didn't matter anymore, En knew what I was and that won't change a thing. Normally just one call to the demons and the devils and we were all killed on the spot. En had other things in mind, getting his cleaners to take care of it. For his own enjoyment, he came back a second time, which was one of the moments that are still hunting me in my dreams. All humans that were caught were used by the family to experiment on...before dying in the deepest pits of hell. That devil was also aware of the En family motives, making sure that he could save some humans. Unfortunately, I was the last one they didn't find. I hid in a hole under the bathtub. It was big enough for me to get in; no one would expect me to hide there. After hours of waiting, I crawled out from there. The devil found me soon after at the fridge eating the last meatballs. I knew something happened to my family, but no one, not even the devil told me. Since I helped him, I felt like I could trust him. On his back, he flew with me towards a dark forest, surrounded by black smoke.

Since then, it was just me and that devil.

He never told me his name, but that didn't worry me. The devil treated me well, acting like a family member. Years went by, till he planned my final escape from this world. During that time, En grew furious. All his plans he had couldn't proceed, because the thing he needed the most, was missing. On the day the humans were captured, he announced to close all doors to the other realm, just in case I tried to escape. The devil was well aware for that, as well as the fact, that the forest was not a good place for humans or magic users. It was the home of the devils that is why I wasn't allowed to leave the house at all cost. But I wasn't the only one hunted down, even his own kind got suspicious of his absence, cooperating with the En family to keep an eye out. The devil risked it all, opening a special kind of door for his kind. He couldn't hide me forever, realizing it after more and more demons were flying over the forest. At least one of us shall live, he thought, accepting his decision...even if it means death.

Back in Hole, I had trouble to sleep.

Constantly tossing and turning, while memories came back to my mind. The owner of the restaurant was too busy to realize where I was. I cleaned the toilets as told and got rid of the rubbish, which gave a certain customer the chance to talk to me.

"Hello little one."

I looked up to the guy. His long pointy red hair was scary and his eyes and mask didn't help either, "Yes?"

"May I have the menu please?"

I looked over to the folders across the room, handing him one. My body began to shudder, as his hands touched mine. Although he got what he asked for, his eyes were still on me. Trembling under his gaze, I wanted to leave at once. Until a small creature walked behind the counter, I couldn't tell if it was a dog, goat or devil, maybe all at once? Whatever it was, it came towards me. It looked so cute, that I couldn't resist hugging it. The man chuckled, "it seems that Kikurage likes you."

"What rages?"

"Kikurage" he corrected. Feeling amused at how tight I pressed the animal against me, he leaned closer over the counter, "Say little one, would you like to take her out for a walk?"

I like the thought of that, "Yeah...but I can't."

"Why not?"

"I am not allowed to leave this house."

The man got curious, "is that so?"

"Yep, so thank you for the offer. See you around Kakarug."

Handing the animal over, this red heard man grabbed my arm. With enough force, my face was close to his, only a few inches apart, "We will meet again...and then...you can leave this house...with me."
