33. Grant a wish

I had nothing better to do than stare at the fire.

Seeing the dress burning, the cards were releasing some black smoke. Thinking back of the party, I couldn't remember to have seen the devil that helped me escape. That the cards were found in the dress was no surprise to me. They had it in their hands before I could even take a look at it. Completely focused on the flames dancing inside the oven, I imagined of how the devils used to look like.

"Perhaps you should turn around for a change?"

I nodded, still absent, "Yeah...yeah..."

Suddenly, something began to poke my back, "Hellooo?"

"Wasn't it 'shocking' that you can only say? You sure improved quick Johnson. That very insect was nowhere near me, it sat in the corner, trying to make itself small. Seeing that large boy there, I turned around, facing the very devil I thought of, "What are you doing here?!"

It pointed a the oven, "You summoned me!"

"Did I?"

The devil nodded, "The devil cards you can summon a devil and it can grant you a wish, although I advise you to never take a wish from a devil."

"Why sounds fun"

"For the devil it sure is, not the one receiving it."

I asked the devil, if it knew what is going on in the world of sorcerers. It stared at me with curiosity, "Is that a wish?" I hesitated, before nodding. Taking her warning serious, I assumed it can't get worse from where I am now. The devil however, had a lot to tell me, far more than I imagined. That En didn't give up on me was one shock, that Nikaido is back being his partner is another. It got worse as it announced that this cat thing is on the loose, looking for me.

"This piece of fur is really getting on my nerves!"

"That is not all"

"Spare me the agony" Of course it didn't, giving me what I wanted. The cleaners are also back to work, looking for that 'fur' thing. One main thing bothered me the most, "What about the other devils, I am sure they know where I am."

"Of course they do, but it would be no fun when you are back in the sorcerer's arms."

"That was a mean trick of you, dressing me up as a sorcerer"

According to the devil, it was Chidaruma's idea, messing with En's head, guessing that he wants to make the sorcerer in red grow feelings for his personal servant, so Chidaruma can crush it the next. That En would keep me alive once he knew who I truly am is something the devils cannot predict, making it even more exciting. The devil before me pokes at my breasts all of a sudden, "And it seems that they have plenty of plans for you." It said to check my bra, finding another two devil cards inside the filling, "How many of those bloody card are on me?!"

It took a close look at them, "One is from Gura Gura and the other from Asu. Keep them safe, you never know when you might need them."

"Thank you, I had enough devils around me for a day." None then less, it cave them back to me, along it its own card, "Just in case." But that one looked different...it had a door drawn on it, "What is this for, a discount on all doors at DIY stores?"

"You can use it to make a door appear to get to the world of sorcerer. Since you are human, you aren't capable to make one on your own. Beware; you can only use it once." Which I may need for another time; "So, you can make a door to the world of sorcerers?"

"Yes?"

I got closer to it, "And you make one now?"

The devil was irritated, "...yes?"

"Can I come along?"

"Out of the question!" Wow, that was quick, "Why not?"

It raised a hand up, "One wish granted, not two."

"Oh come on. It means I have to use it already?" The devil nodded, "Seems like it. If you want to help this lizard of yours"

"Wait, how do you know I want to help him? Hello?" the devil was already through the door and gone, "At least you could say good bye!" So what to do? I got a card that gets me back, but I won't be able to return to Hole. Going through the rooms to get the laundry, I spotted a mask on the wall, "Might be useful." Behind me stood Johnson, still shaking from the presence of the devil, "Shocking?"

"Yep you got it. I am going back."

With the mask, which has black bunny ears on top, I got passed the insect. Johnson kept following me wherever I go, "Shocking!"

"I can't wait, it is an emergency."

"What is?" the sudden sound of a young man made me jump. Dr. Kasukabe asked me, looking curious at the mask I am holding, "I see you found Nikaido's old mask."

"It was Nikaido'mask?"

He nodded, "When she got into the world of sorcerers with Kaiman." It made me feel bad, that she was allowed to come along to help him and I just get pushed aside, "Doc, I...I..."

"Hm?" his smile didn't fade.

"I have to get back to work" leaving the young man in the corridor, Johnson and I went towards the room where they were the laundry. Dr. Kasukabe was no idiot; he knew that I was up to something. With my baggy jeans a black shirt and a large jacket, I placed the devil cards in my pocket. The door pass was in my hand, holding it up in the air, "...come one...how it this working?!" I tried a few things, flip it, turn it, holding it around like looking for a connection to the other side, nothing...

"Shit!" Frustrated, I threw it onto the ground. There it lies, not making a door. Johnson just watched me throwing a tantrum, while something seem to change.

"Shocking, shocking, shocking!"

"Not now Johnson!" The larger insect didn't stop, making gestures that I couldn't translate. I wanted to tell him to give it a rest, as my feet felt no resistance anymore.
