19. Not mistaken

It was pretty dangerous, being around sorcerers at a close distance.

If only one recognize me, not only am I in danger, but also everyone else in the restaurant. My appearance might have changed a little, but I prefer not to take any risks. Then again, tell that the owner. Tanba couldn't give a damn about the danger, even though I told him what could happen to everyone and his restaurant, "If anyone touched my staff, they will have to deal with me. Unlike that lazy bastard, you two are good workers." That he meant Kaiman was no surprise, since he took over five breaks in one hour. He didn't need those; it was just a way to get to the delicious meat bags. For that, I had my own methods to keep him away, "Hey Kaiman, do you remember...when I tripped and got cuts all over?"

He pretended not to know, until I threw one into his direction, "Don't test my patience or I will kill you for the meat bags."

"You wouldn't dare!"

I chuckled, "You are so right..." pointing behind him, "...because he will get you first."

Tanba seems to be allergic to slackers, grabbing Kaiman by his spikes back to the toilets. At least I had my peace for a while, attending to the next customer. A tall man entered the restaurant, in blue clothes and mask. The minute he sat before me, his hands grabbed the menu and ordered almost everything on both pages. In Hole, if I would tell Nikaido that, she would think I was insane, but here Fukuyama simply said, that it was normal...sorcerers have a huge appetite. It even got more bizarre as he took off his mask...revealing his true identity.

Underneath was a beautiful woman, with red eyes and long white hair.

Near sorcerers I kept my mouth shut, just nodding at their every word. With that woman was it no different, serving her the first thing on the menu. At the distance, I watched her eat away the meat bags, like her life depends on it. The next person that entered was just like her, wearing a heart mask. Underneath, he had spiky blond hair and glasses, also eating at the same speed. Nikaido didn't see the new customers, until she came from the storage room. It surprised me; how her hand grabbed my arm and pulled me not the small room, "Don't go out there."

"Why?"

Nikaido took a peek out the door, still seeing them eat, "They are cleaners, members of En."

"Eh?"

"No eh...En. The most powerful sorcerer in this world, we better not cross their path or his henchmen." For that, she asked Fukuyama to serve them.

Noi wasn't supposed to come here at first, but her stomach was craving for these delicious meat bags. Shin had just finished a small job for the boss, finding his partner at the counter, "Don't you have anything better to do than eat Noi?"

"As a matter of fact, I do. Will you come with me to see En sempai?"

Shin sighted, "I just came from there, why do you want to see him anyway?"

From the storage room, Nikaido and I could hear them talking.

"Apparently, Ebisu and Fujita are given an order to retrieve a human from Hole. She should be taken to En. The stupid part is that she has to be alive, how boring it that?"

Her partner just shrugged, not caring if it doesn't involve fighting, "You seem to forgotten that this is one of the oldest assignments from En. He has been after this girl since we killed the other humans and burned down the restaurant. Wasn't it this location where the building was?"

Noi nodded, "of course, it was. That was so much fun; do you remember how much the human were resisting, making it more enjoyable for us?"

"They were weak, but yeah, you got a point."

The woman wants to know why En is keeping such information from her, "Why did he give us the job? It would have been done immediately."

Shin doesn't understand En's way of thinking and doesn't really care either. To get Noi to stop nagging about it, they decided to go there straight away. Fukuyama head out relieved, that they left before they even ate half of the menu they ordered. For Nikaido was it still a back off situation, while I was frozen on the spot. I didn't want to go out of the room anymore, scared to the very core.

"N/A?"

"It was them, Nikaido...they killed my parents."

She hugged me tight, "They won't get you, I promise."

"I want to go home...back to Hole."

"We can't and besides, they are looking for you there. They don't know that you are in there world, we can take this to our advantage."

"How?"

Nikaido told me about the two people she knows and that they might be able to help me out. The only thing now, is on how to get to them, without getting caught. Neither did she find an answer right now nor could we even discuss our plans any further. Tanba found us in the storage room, pulling us by our necks out, "Get back to work!" Nikaido was worried, as the owner pushed me towards another customer. This one was no sorcerer, it was a devil. There was no doubt about it, these wings, horns and voice...it was the same one that helped me escape.

"So it was you...what brings you back to this world?"

Leaning over the counter, I whispered, "They are looking for me in Hole. I need to lay low for a while." Curious, the devil leaned a little sideways, staring at Nikaido, "And you brought En's partner along?"

"Whose partner?" I followed the gaze to the blonde woman, "Nikaido?"

"Until the next blue night, she remains his partner. You two should go back to the human world."

"I just told you, they are already out there looking for me."

I backed off, as the devil came closer, "What would you prefer, a bunch of sorcerers hunting you down...or devils?"
