24. The garden party

It wasn't the first time that his boss helped him out. Tanba may look and act all scary, but inside he is caring towards his staff. Kaiman fears of not being able to save me in time, while the owner just shook his head, "I didn't expect you to be the type of guy that just gives up when it gets hard."

"..."

"Or isn't she worth it saving?"

"..She is...but..." his head went towards the stairs to the bedrooms, "...I don't want to get Nikaido involved." Kaiman told his boss about what happened the last time she was in the hands of sorcerers. Suddenly he stood up, "I make one thing clear; she is worth it to be saved and I will rescue her on my own."

Tanba leaned back, enjoying his staff member getting all pumped up, "And how are you going to do that?"

"Simple, I crash into the garden party, get N/A and back to Hole."

"And you think it will be that easy? You said garden party right? That is one of the main events at En's mansion. Only authorized sorcerers are allowed to enter this event. I don't see how you are getting in there." Kaiman's eyes got all creepy, as he asked his boss in a very disturbing way while raising his voice, "...boss~?"

"Forget it! I am still traumatized after what you done the last time."

The lizard felt offended, "Don't tell me you didn't like your wife?! I dressed all pretty for you and what do I get? Complaints...typical."

"You are not my wife! And you will not going to pretend to be one!"

For Kaiman a simple solution, "I can be your cousin...Mr. Meat bag."

"What the hell?!"

"No cousin? Maybeee...your mother?"

Tanba was close to choke this lizard, "Hell no!" The argument went on all night, till one of them lost the fight. Too bad...it was the owner of the restaurant. No one would ask him about his wife, when she wears a mask. It won't be a problem this time and it won't be one now. Although, there was one thing they had to do, "What about Nikaido? She would follow us when we go to the party." For that, Tanba had a simple trick, for that, he needs Fukuyama. What Kaiman didn't know, she can not only make food, she also can stuff it with things that could affect the ones eating them. So they all had to wait, till Nikaido received her breakfast. The whole staff, including the boss, decided to eat together that day. As the young woman sat down, Kaiman pointed at something behind her, "hey Nikaido, did you see the new recipe from boss?" Curious, she looked over her shoulder at the paper on the wall. It wasn't an actual recipe, but a perfect way to distract her. Slowly, Kaiman switched her meat bags with the ones Fukuyama had produced. Nikaido didn't feel a thing, as she slowly began to stop moving. Before she knows it, her head hits the table hard. Irritated, Kaiman poked her head, "Nikaido...are you dead?"

"She is asleep and wont wake up in the next few hours. Well done Fukuyama." Just to be sure, Kirion was told to stay in the restaurant, watching over her. Kirion is a human herself and doesn't want to get involved in anyone's business; since she is glad to live at the restaurant in peace. Tanba would be ripped apart if anyone knew that he kept her around, also one reason he wants to help out Kaiman...but he would never tell him that.

For the rest of the team, they all got ready to leave. Tanba shuddered, as the lizard man got his costume on. Asuka, who is deeply in love with the owner, just looked bored at Kaiman, "You are still fat"

The lizard man froze, acting all girly at Tanba, "How dare you don't say anything to that! Don't you love me anymore darling?"

"I can't recall that I ever had. Let's go."

Asuka grinned wide, "See, because he loves me...fatty."

Tanba sighted, "That goes for you as well." Now he and two women pouting at the back, while Fukuyama wouldn't suppress her laugh, Kaiman sure took his role seriously.

Meanwhile, the party hasn't started just yet.

The preparations were still ongoing, while the master of the mansion was still asleep. As his servant, it was my duty to wake him up, by ringing a bell. To my surprise, he even wished me a good morning. From getting up till he got ready for breakfast, it was all in order. Somehow, it felt like I was taking care of a human being, since he didn't use his powers for anything. Even for his breakfast, the cook took care of this. He informed me last night about the party and I shall help out in the garden afterwards. Other than that, I expected nothing else from this day.

But it got worse from there.

The door was slammed open, to reveal a young boy and girl, holding up a little creature. En however, didn't shout as the two, he was rather calm, "Fujita, Ebisu, did you success with your mission?" Instead of an answer, they fell to their knees begging for forgiveness. The creature on the other hand, was placed on the ground. I remembered that thing from Hole, the one I wasn't allowed to take into the hungry bug. En cuddled the thing for a minute before letting it go, "At least you brought back Kikurage back."

Fujita and Ebisu crawled closer to the sorcerer, hugging his legs, "Have mercy boss, Kikurage couldn't find her." The young girl whimpered, "Didn't find the girl."

During that moment, this cat like creature was rubbing its body against my legs, "Nyaa... (Hello you)"

En sighted, "So Kikurage didn't approach any woman in Hole?"

"Not one...please don't kill us!"

I began to sweat under my mask, as it was trying crawl up my leg, "Nyaa...aaa...(Hold me)" I looked around, no one was looking...and I stood close to the window. Getting the creature off the ground, I used enough force to make it fly out the window. The loud whining of the two sorcerers distracted En from hearing the cat thing. The man in red had mercy with them, ordering the two to help out at the party, serving the guests. The minute they ran out of the room, En began to call out for the creature, his voice was high and creepy, "Kikurage? Where are you? Daddy has a surprised for you."

He is not the only one, I thought, while mimicking his voice in my head. "Where is Kikurage?" I jumped, as he addressed this question at me. I shook my head quickly.

"Well, we don't have time to look around. I'll let someone else deal with this. Follow me" In the corridors, he was greeted by Shin, for En the perfect person to take care of the disappearance of his pet. The man in the heart mask was far from happy about this task, while a large black dog came closer to me. No one took notice of this as it was sitting beside me. Panicking, I tried to move this black mass off me, but it seems that this dog was incredible heavy. Meanwhile, Noi joined in soon after, complaining about this dull assignment too. From a small talk, it turned into a loud argument, making the dog bark around. This really didn't help anyone, especially not me. Fearing the worst, En grabbed the leash from Shin's hand and gave it to me, "Get that dog out of my sight!"

Instantly, the black fur ball stopped barking while wiggling its tail. I could have sworn...it smiled at me creepy.
