Tanba allowed Nikaido to take her break outside the restaurant. Since she wasn't late and did her job perfectly, she went out to get some information. With the money she could collect in an alley, by killing off a few sorcerers, Nikaido managed to get into the place she needed to be to summon a devil. According to the creature behind the door, these seasons are for the devil exams, so the visit might be shorter than usual...and a lot more expensive. Unfortunately, the amount of money wasn't enough to summon anyone. Frustrated, she had to leave the place. For Nikaido it was a waste of time, while her old friend used it well.
Kaiman finished his chores like yesterday, ready to call it a day.
Since he ditched me into the container, he hasn't heard of me. Assuming that I was still there, probably pouting, he takes a look, "N/A?" Since we got nothing to do, he wanted to take me along, explore the town together, but he couldn't find me. Even the owner of the restaurant neither his staff knew where I went to. As Nikaido came back, Kaiman asked her straight away, "Did you see N/A anywhere?"
"Wasn't she with you?"
As he told her where he had thrown me in and for what reason, she raised a brow," Can't you two just get along for once?" Kaiman shrugged at that. He didn't want to admit it, but he enjoys pissing me off. Anyhow, even with Nikaido's help, I remained missing. Where was N/A, they both thought.
Not even I could answer that myself.
All I could hear are other people moaning and screaming around. Something prevents me from seeing my surroundings and another thing to keep me from moving. The smell was horrible, the stench of rotten flesh, sweat and blood. Still no sure where I was, something pulled on my arm. Since the smell began to get better, I guessed I was brought out into the open. The shock I received, as when they removed the blindfolds. There I was, standing with several other people in a row...in front of a huge crowd. With the thing hanging around my neck, there was no doubt where I was.
I was an object now and to be sold to sorcerers.
How the hell did I get here? I thought, looking along the row. They were all humans; some were already victims of magic while others were just lucky for the time being. The customers before us were eager to bet on anything on stage. I feared to get into the wrong hands, getting killed by magic. Before they could even start, a weird man in a suit came forward, whispering something into the slave trader's ear. The auction came to a halt, as a bunch of humans were collected from the row and brought into a room. I was one of the chosen ones, walking in a line towards the building. Inside, we were all back in a row, standing against a wall. The weird man in his outfit had more of his companion in the same suit, deciding of who they take from us humans. Once they stood before me, I stopped breathing.
"She looks healthy can be used as servant."
The slave trader however, wanted to know how much he gets for his stuff. He followed one of the men outside, "It was all discussed and you get the money as promised."
"I don't know, the young one wasn't part of the deal. Such a sweet little thing may be worth a little more, even when she smells like a sewer."
The man stayed firm, "If that is how you think, perhaps you should discuss it with En in person."
The slave trader wouldn't dare to get anywhere near this sorcerer, or even make him angry. Besides that, En is his best customer of all sorcerers out there. That said; he accepted the amount of money. All of the humans were transported into a van later on and placed into small groups. Before we were even allowed to enter the mansion, we all had to go through a ritual. Getting cleaned, clothes burned and an all-round suit on like the weird men. My job was to clean all the rooms in the west wing, handing me the right equipment for the job. I had to follow a man into a room, "You do not talk, whatever you get asked, you only nod or shake your head, understood?" I nodded quickly. Standing beside him, I looked exactly like him... like identical twins by appearance. He knocked on the door, until he had the permission to enter.
Before us stood a man in a red suit, his hair was standing up and his mash covered his mouth.
"We got you the new servants, around ten humans for keeping the mansion in order."
The man in red came forward, "And this is?"
"The servant for your room Lord En"
Through the mask, I looked around the place. For such a massive room, he needed someone ot clean it indeed. Suddenly, he came closer to my mask, "Are you a good worker?" I nodded fast.
"If you are lying, I kill you."
Wow, what a great way to motivate! He ordered this man to instruct me what I was allowed to do and what I was not. Apparently, there was another person I got to take care of, but it was not around in the meantime. The guy in red watched us, while I was shown around the place. Another man entered the room with a heart shaped mask, "What is going on here?"
