You don't have to be a genius; that Kaiman does it on purpose.
Who takes two hours to get ready? Even with his mask on, I could see him grinning wide, "Sorry that it took so long." Such a bad liar, "Don't be, we got enough things to do...which of course will take a lot longer now." This cheeky grin was quickly replaced by a shocked expression, "Wait a minute. We only have to do one job!" Now being the evil one, I showed him the papers...on both sides, "That and a few more for the hospital."
"...I hate you"
"Same, now let's get started" with my hand, I made the gesture for him to pick a car. Like a stubborn child, he just puts his own hands into his pockets and shrugged, "Just chose on your own." But when I did, he complained.
...too small.
...ugly.
...a joke of a vehicle.
"Instead for complaining, just say which one you want!!!!"
"Does it matter?"
At this point, I wanted to drive him over with one, "I don't have a driving license, so yes it does."
Now he really was testing my nerves, kicking a small stone onf the ground, "...I am not in the mood to drive..." This whole argument was absolutely pointless, especially for Kaiman. The owner of the cars had heard us, obviously from us getting louder during our argument and headed over, "Can I help you on soemthign?"
I sighted deeply at the man, "You don't happen to have a straightjacket I can rent?"
"I am afraif nto Miss."
"Pity; But yes..." I gave Kaiman a glare, that he returned back, "...'we' need a car for today."
Like the ususal way of his work, the owner nodded pleased, "Of course...here we have the latest van from..." Right in the middle of his words, Kaiman interrupted us, "I said I am not driving!"
"Just shut up and listen!"
Suddnely, the owner began to laugh. Kaiman and I could only stare confused at him. What was so fun? The man points his finger at us with an amused smile, "Ah I see...how long has it then?"
He didn't make any sense, "Has what?"
"it is nto the first itme that I had a couple here, arguing on a car for their holiday out of hole."
I wanted to say something, as kaiman beats me to it, "The only reason I would take her out of hole is to ditch her there." He didn't expect me to pull on his mask, getting him to my level, "how many of those painkillers did oyu use?" "
"Enough to be resistant to your constant nagging. OWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!"
His knees however aren't resistant, "Perhaps you should a few more." I wanted this nonsense to get over with, taking over, "We are not a couple Sir and I want that car over there." The owner showed me the papers for the vehicle, as Kaiman tried to complain about it. Rolling up the papers, he got another hit on the head, "I would like to pay in cash"
"Certainly Miss."
"N/A, I don't want to!"
"If you don't cooperate n the next five minutes, not only will you see the car from underneath, but also being dragged back to Nikaido." That got him going. Still grumbling about his knee, head and the uncomfortable seat, he did what I asked him to.
At the hospital was already a bunch of corpses at the entrance, still waiting to get picked up.
Vaux was furious, since he had to wait for us sloths to arrive on time. Once he saw Kaiman at the wheels, he pressed his finger to his wrist, "Do you two know what a clock is?! What the hell did you do in three hours?!"
I shrugged, "Don't ask me, it is him that thought we had all the time in the world."
Kaiman didn't argue or anything, just placing the corpses onto the back of the vehicle. Vaux noticed the tension that was between us, leaning a little towards me, "What is going on with you two?"
"Wrong question, the right tone would be; what is wrong with Kaiman? Ever since he was filling himself up last night, he has been more difficult than before."
"Sounds like his normal self."
I had hoped he just said that to cheer me up. If that is Kaiman's real character, I should have kept my distance from the very first day. Although, after the job, I should could go away. Nothing would stop me leaving them, "Cheers man, we let you know when we got the job done."
"Good luck then"
I will need that, I thought. OT my surprise, Kaiman didn't speak to me the whole ride to the mansion. On our way, he even stopped at a petrol station for food. He actually obeyed my orders and without a single complain? He even waited for me in the car. His eyes stared at the stuff I bought, once I closed the door shut. Kaiman wanted to say something, but rather kept grumbling than asking. I placed them all on my lap, "What would you like?" Ever since we left, he looked at my face for once, not with anger or hate. He looked more tired and exhausted, "That one...and this" A pair of rice balls and a can of beer. Not complaining with me made it easier to communicate with Kaiman, although he returned being silent again. I don't understand him at all, one minute he was getting on my nerves like a five year old and the next, he is cooperative and quiet.
"We are here"
The sudden sound of his voice made me jump. There we were, standing in front of an old mansion. It looked more of a ghost house; it is hard to believe that someone lives in there. We got the corpses off the car and placed them at the doorstep to the mansion. As I was about to get in, I noticed how Kaiman stopped moving, "What is wrong?"
His next words were really irritating, "...can I wait here?"
"Eh?"
What has gotten into him?
