Kikurage was finally clean and smelled fresh.

With a hairdryer, it sat on the table and enjoyed the feeling of the fur getting dry. But we forgot the effect of the dryer, making the animal look like a pom pom ball. For the first time, I heard En laugh. It wasn't loud, but the way his pet looked, it was no surprised that he couldn't suppress this feeling.

The cat thing wasn't amused by that.

It demanded to be stroked, cuddled and warmth, while looking in my direction. En didn't have time for that, gesturing me to do so. Obeying his order, I reached out to the fur...

ZAP!

No can do, it is electrostatic charged. Kikurage frowned, "Nyaaaaa (What are you waiting for?!)"

"En?"

The sorcerer stood at his wardrobe, "Hm?"

"Don't I have to dress you?"

I watched the man going through the clothes, looking a little lost. Once I got closer, he backed off. With one go, I pulled out his nightshirt and pants, but as I was about to reach it over...

ZAP!

The sorcerer rubbed his hand at this, "Leave it on the chair." He prefers to do it himself, instead of getting another shock.

"Sorry"

I didn't seem to be the only one to make this night horrible of him. Kikurage jumped into bed, ready to cuddle as...

ZAP!

"AH! Off the bed!"

Who knows how many times this cat thing came back to En that night. Thankfully I had my own room. Getting into my nightgown, I just fell into the pillows, not even bothered to pull the sheet over my body. The last task was fun, but that didn't make it any better. I was feeling homesick; I want to be back in Hole with Kaiman and Nikaido. Suddenly, I was wide awake, "Nikaido!" En mentioned her as his 10pm meeting, so she has to be somewhere in this place.

Kaiman had enough of waiting.

Even though, if anyone finds him snooping around in the middle of the night, the lizard man decided to take the risk. Another day of cleaning damn floors or cutting things for the kitchen was not in for the lizard man. On tip toes, he went passed the other sleeping servants and through the kitchen. Not to leave empty handed, he got a handful of pies that are left behind and a knife; in case he needs it.

I sneaked out too and went down the corridor.

The booklet contained a map of the mansion. It didn't show all areas since it isn't up to date, but a few places are still there...like the prison. Knowing that Nikaido wouldn't come here on her own free will, En must have locked her up somewhere. The prison is the only thing I could think of. But how can I find this place, when I cannot see anything? The corridors were quite dark, I had to get near the lamps to see the map, "Down this hall and then left."

Kaiman had to improvise, just taking the path he feels right about.

For him was the poor light also a major problem, following alongside the walls. But not only that, something was up, he could hear footsteps. Just opening a random door would be risky, but there was nothing else in the corridor to hide. Kaiman had to decide soon, as a shadow was at the end of the hall. He took the next door in sight, through a gap, the lizard man kept an eye on the stranger. Unaware that he had his back to another stranger. Before Kaiman knew what happened, he got pulled away from the door, while the stranger shut it quickly.

I heard the sound of something clicking.

My heart skipped a beat, feeling unsure if I should keep moving. Checking the map once more, I was on the right way, "From here to the right, down the stairs and one more turn to the right...that should be easy." Although, I decided to go a little slower, not making any loud noises.

Kaiman wanted to scream, if this certain stranger didn't shut his mouth with both hands.

That person got closer, whispering into his ear, "I knew you would come to me one day." Kaiman was irritated, not sure of what this person is up to. His first thought was that it might be a pervert, as the hands travelled over his face, "Huh? That is not En's face" With the right kick form the lizard man, he got the stranger's knee. In one go, he collapsed to the ground. The moment for Kaiman to get out his knife, "Who are you?!" With the light on now, he stared at a man he met before.

A man with a bird mask on, "Oh, it's only you"

Kaiman backed off, not wanted to be touched again, "Ah, the bird brain!"

"How rude! I am Chota, we met before."

"We have? When?" his body moved instantly, as the bird man stepped forwards, "That stupid girl of yours taking away my precious En. You two escaped with the help of a devil." Now he knew where he seen this guy before. Chota was hoping that En would sneak into his chamber, embracing him tenderly and begging him to be his partner. Kaiman just shrugged, not wanting to be involved into this sick dreams of the bird man, "Who cares, I am looking for Nikaido."

"That cow? Why?"

With a knife pointed at Chota's neck, the lizard man growled, "Either you help or die here and now" Kaiman told him, that he wants to take her back to Hole. For the birdman is that good news, "Well then what are we waiting for?!"

"HUH?!"

A shiver went down Kaiman's spine, as Chota held his hand, "I know where she is."

"Don't touch me!" he still didn't forgive him for going over his head a while ago. The birdman just wanted to open the door, but Kaiman kept it shut, "Stop, there is someone in the hall"

"At this time of night?"

"Exactly; Let me go ahead..." he held the knife close to his face, "...I deal with it."

I must have a very short-term memory loss or I am just tired.

My mind wasn't capable to remember a few stupid directions, so I had to check the map once more. Reaching up to the light, holding the booklet up in the air, I didn't see the large figure coming from behind. "Damn, not enough light" I said under my breath. And then, this bloody booklet falls out of my hands. The minute I kneeled down, something made a sound on my left. Turning my head to it, I could see a long deep cut. From the corner of my eye, I noticed something moving. A quickly glance at the person, this stranger was very tall and held a long object in the air. Form the light, it shined bright. I swallowed hard, not expecting to get attacked by a stranger with a knife in the middle of the night. With another swing, I dodged the attack. Not fast enough, it cut my arm slightly. With enough adrenaline in my body, I ran down the hall. Once I heard the footsteps from behind, I increased my speed. Why is he attacking me?!

Meanwhile, a door opened and the bird man looked down the hall, "Lizard brain? Where are you?"
