In the emergency room...

Aizawa sat, stained and ruined, and capture weapon tight in his hands. His leg bounced, eyes unfocused, as his mind raced. Several of his students, and Vlad's, were being tended to while only his problem child was in a critical situation.

"Family for Izuku Midoriya?"

Aizawa sat up, eyes landed on the doctor. He rose, practically pouncing on the man. "Is he okay?"

"Are you family?" the man asked, frowning.

"Teacher," Aizawa answered. "We haven't been able to get ahold of his father. I am his acting guardian for the time being."

The doctor checked his paperwork. "I see it here. Please sit down, sir."

Aizawa shook his head, needing information right now. "No."

The man shook his head and began to talk. Aizawa felt bile rise in his throat as he listened. Three broken ribs. Two valves shredded. Heart muscle is actually punctured in three places. Chest wall torn open. Sever blood lost. Signs of concussion.

Aizawa wasn't sure when he sat down, but he heard the soft voice telling him to keep his head between his knees. He worked to control his surprisingly fast breathing. It took a few more moments to realize who he was hearing.

"There ya go, Sho," Hizashi's voice whispered agonizingly soft for the normally loud hero. "I'm right here, buddy. Slow and steady."

Aizawa's eyes burned. "I...I thought..."

The blonde's hands slowly rubbed his back. "It's okay. We all did."

"Mr. Aizawa?" The doctor's voice cut in.

Aizawa sat up slowly, Hizashi still kneeling at his side. "Is he...?"

The doctor smiled. "He's alive. He has one hell of a will to fight, and the Angel Touch quirk wasn't too bad to have on hand. But we need to do surgery to allow for other healing quirks to get in deep enough. Can you consent?"

Aizawa nodded as his blond co-worker gently wiped the tears away. "Yes. Save him, please."

The doctor nodded and walked away with urgency. Hizashi moved up to sit in the chair beside him, pulling him close.

"If I see any of your students, I'll let go," the blond promised quietly.

Aizawa reached up with one arm, hand clinging to his arm. "I don't give a damn. Let them see. I nearly cost them a friend because I doubted those two boys."

"Within reason, Sho," Hizashi assured softly. "Given what you'd seen and observed, it made sense. But we know that if they really did work for All for One, he'd never risk losing a valuable asset. We'll find Bakugo, and Midoriya is gonna pull through."

The raven haired man nodded and just leaned into his boyfriend, trying not to feel. He watched as his injured students were slowly released, but they refused to leave the waiting room. Soon, the majority of Class 1A and 1B were there with teachers in tow.

Aizawa sat in silence as his fellow heroes talked quietly about tracking Bakugo and praising Momo for thinking to stick a tracker on Bakugo before they got separated. Plans to raid the pinned location were murmured, but neither man holding each other took part in the plan.

It was late into the evening when the doctor reappeared. Aizawa sat up, disturbing Hizashi from his nap against his shoulder. The startled yelp from the blond jerked a few of the students awke.

"Doctor," Aizawa said as he sat tense.

"He'll be fine," the doctor smiled. "He is in recovery right now. We were able to repair everything, but he'll be sore for a while, and I'd recommend very light activity for a couple of weeks."
