Aizawa had a pounding headache from the arguing over the table. Vlad King was dead set on just sending the teens off to Tartarus and throwing away the key. He even went as far as suggestion sending them to different sections to keep them from trying to escape. Hizashi was shouting loudly about how they were victims and needed protection, thankfully without his quirk. Nedzu just sat, studying the teachers. Snipe had eventually agreed with Aizawa that the two boys had been brainwashed to believe the lies of the villains.
Finally Aizawa had endured enough. He slammed his fist to the table, the thump echoing into silence. He stood, eyes still on the bright photo of the two toddlers who had disappeared years ago.
"Enough," he grunted. "We are not sending them off to Tartarus without reason. These are children who lost their entire worlds when they were just starting school. We don't know what was done to them or what they were told. None of these reports share anything outside of the fact that it was an attack on the daycare and their mothers were found dead."
"I agree," Midnight said from her seat where she had been silent the entire time. "If you look at everything, you can see the trauma response. Izuku, even based on the daycare notes, was always a sweet boy. For him to have such anger can only point at trauma."
"And he flinches when you move at him," Aizawa announced. "After they 'rescued' Bakugo, I tried to offer comfort and he flinched away."
"I've had him do that to me too," Hizashi agreed. "Like he's afraid he's going to be hit."
"The fact that Bakugo got quiet is another sign," Midnight added. "Especially for someone who is naturally loud."
Aizawa sat heavily. "These boys have not chosen this life. It was chosen for them...and I have a feeling we all know by who."
All present nodded grimly. That was the first thing they had agreed on - this had All for One written all over it. Silence settled over the adults, each lost in their own thoughts for a moment.
"So what now?" Midnight finally whispered.
"I think the boys need to see the truth," Aizawa said calmly as he rose and gathered up the folders. "Who knows what they were told or what they saw."
"Is that wise?" Vlad interrupted. "They may get violent."
Aizawa leveled a cold gaze at Vlad. "They grew up in violence. If that wasn't their first response I'd be concerned."
"Shouta," Nedzu called. "Before you do, shall we decided what happens to our young students afterwards?"
Aizawa hesitated. What were they going to do with them?
"They're gonna live with us, duh," Hizashi grinned. "We've been thinking about adopting for awhile and they're gonna need parents who aren't afraid of them or their past."
"They'll try and run," Midnight warned.
Hizashi smiled. "And we'll chase them down and drag them back. Maybe ground them a bit."
Aizawa smiled at his significant other. "These two boys need to know what actual caring love is. They need to feel in control. If, when they are of age, they decide they want to be on their own we won't stop them."
"And their crimes?" Vlad asked.
Nedzu smiled. "They're minors," he announced. "We have a rehab program that just happens to be starting this year. They can be enrolled and their juvenile records will be sealed."
Midnight smiled. "So we've got two gremlins to take care of now? Ohh! I can't wait to spoil them rotten! We've probably got years of birthdays and holidays to make up for!"
Aizawa smiled as he rose and headed for the room. He listened to Hizashi and Midnight making lists of things that the two boys probably missed out on.
With a grin, Aizawa knocked on the door before entering the room.
