Life fell into a pattern after that. While the boys continued their own studies, Nedzu began to pull them into upper classes to discuss how villains might think. Izuku was always with either Dabi or Katsuki as he was still in speech therapy. He was up to short, complete sentences instead of only a couple of words.
Hawks started spending more time at UA, especially with Dabi. It was actually the hero that convinced Dabi to have a sit down with his siblings. Fuyumi had cried and clung to Dabi as if she had been afraid he was going to disappear. Natsuo spent time discussing taking their father to court and fighting for custody of Todoroki. The youngest Todoroki sibling had been silent the entire time. Eventually, the older two left and Dabi sat across from Todoroki to let his youngest sibling digest and react. When Aizawa went to check, he'd found Todoroki clinging to Dabi like a lifeline as he slept. Dabi looked like he'd been crying, but neither adult said a word about it.
Eri was also flourishing as Nedzu had instituted her as a student under Izuku. The teen worked with her on basic academics. She was already reading like a master and had mastered nearly all basic math skills. She had even started joining some of the hero classes to talk about what it was like to be rescued from a victims point of view. Katsuki and Izuku had also joined her on her first meeting with students to help her share not only her story, but theirs.
Aizawa was proud of his boys every day. They were showing their true colors - not the dark mess of chaos that had started out as.
The Hero Commission still kept a presence outside, occasionally reminding any teacher coming or going that the villains would mess up at some point.

Aizawa glared down at the car parked just outside of the front gate from Nedzu's office window in the early morning light. He had been called in for a meeting with his boss before the start of school and had spotted the car.
"I am afraid your quirk will not let you spontaneously combust the car, Shouta," Nedzu chuckled.
"Damnit," the man muttered and forced himself to sit down. "What are we going to do? The three of them can not stay locked up here forever. The League is still out there..."
"I have been working on some ideas," Nedzu assured. "My favorite is to have someone completely erase their criminal past."
Aizawa should have been surprised, but he wasn't. Nedzu had a deep-seated hatred for humans, excluding a few choice ones here at the school.
"That's illegal," Aizawa sighed.
"How so? What evidence would they have?" Nedzu grinned.
"The victims of our boys," Aizawa tried to argue.
"Many of whom I have spoken to, and they are not happy that the Hero Commission is imprisoning traumatized children at a school, " the furry principal happily explained. "One even offered his services in handling the situation. Apparently, his quirk is like he is a human computer. It's rather fascinating. "
Aizawa frowned. "You've already done it, haven't you?"
Nedzu just sipped his tea, nodding to the files on his desk. The exhausted teacher sighed and opened the folder, studying the reports. They were clear of everything...except that the boys' mothers had been murdered and they had been held captive by the League for most of their lives. Aizawa raised his eyes to his boss and smirked.
"You made it all disappear, did you now?" Aizawa chuckled.
"I just made sure their legal records reflect the truth," Nedzu said happily. "Now the Commission has no reason to target the boys because of their past. Though it might take a few of their aunts and uncles to get it through those fools heads."
